I didn't think it was that easy just that I have a keen eye and a good memory...and I watched the film a few nights ago (as it is one of my all time favourites).

Either way, looking forward to seeing this one develop. I hit the right design period as well with Frank Lloyd Wright/Art Deco...double bubble!!!

I watched it the other day too. The new directors cut looks much better than the old version

The first time you see this film you should see it on the biggest screen you can..... check out film festivals etc to see it on the big screen... go IMAX if you can.

Bladerunner is without doubt one of my favourite movies of all time. The game by Westwood Studio (of Command & Conquer fame) was also pretty awesome. I had been slowly acquiring a whole load of ref material on the spinner car, designed by the one and only Syd Mead, but lost the lot in a recent computer crash. Mmm, me thinks I'll start researching that again soon. Anyhow, great topic and will be watching this one with keen interest.

A great movie due to a combination of many factors - Ridley Scott is my favorite director, PKD is my favorite author, Harrison Ford is in my favorite actor list, and I like electronic music. How could it not be one of my favorite movies of all time? :)

Bladerunner: the only movie I know of that was in color and successfully implemented "film noir".

Will there be volumetric effects for the smoke/smog/mist/rain?

if i do a lightworks render i'll add some ridley-esque volumetric lighting. Want to do a more 'normal' archectural one first though

Lol - a big ditto on all the above Tom. In addition, what I find quite remarkable about the film is that the book it was based on, PKD's Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep, it is really quite dire and the whole Nexus 6 thing is just a tiny, tiny story thread running in the background. A few paragraphs a best. Whoever took that and developed an entire movie on it deserves a huge amount of credit.

i liked the book. The film is better though.

They should have kept the 'mood organ' in the film. I thought it made a nice contrast, real humans with fake emotions against fake humans with real emotions.

A quick update. I had to rebuild the block-tile (twice) because when i was rendering it in the scene it was looking a blit flat and boring, so i made a new version and beveled the edges to help it catch the light more.
