Nice tutorial Kena.

I think using softpaint could have been used to create your egg in workSpace and keeping you on the workSpace side of things. However the Model side deform tool would be easier in this case. I'm glad your tutorial is using the new tools because most users here haven't seen their advantages yet.

If you would not mind, could you post a link to your tutorial here? Maybe edit your original post to include it. That would make it easier for people like me who want to take the tutorial, but don't know where it is.

@ Steinie - Thank you. I thought about using the softpaint tool, but I don't have enough control to do a simple egg with it yet and figured that new people to the program would have similar problems. I try to use the workspace as much as possible because the tools are generally easy to use if you know how.

It could all have been done in the Model side, but the seperate tool over there does not always work correctly and a lot of <ctl><z> just makes it harder to work with than the one on the Workspace side.

@Erpax - Thanks. Hope it helps you out with other projects as well. You don't have to just break an egg. you can use the technique to shatter anything. Just go on the net and find a picture of what pattern you want for your own object and split it up!

@ Ospreyluvr - I have noticed that many people ask how such-and such a picture would look in a different render engine. Figured that this would cover it for them :D

@ Mr. 3D - I would start with the 1st part of the organics modeling course. We still wait for the other two, but the first one will give you ALL the basics and get you going on the Workspace side in record time!
