That is very cool Wigand. You've opened my eyes to my undiscovered Displacement uses in a whole new way. Thanks for sharing! I wonder what effect you may be able to create by applying some math to your script and moving the X and Y in different ways. Perhaps a Circle?

Another one that I hope makes it way onto TurboSquid, to get this cool content out to as large an audience as possible (and start showing non-tS users why they might want to pick up tS, when they come across this sort of clever stuff available for a free application!)

I agree, is pretty interesting scenario.
Could hook it up to read frames of an animation for the offset to sync waves with say a boat movement or such.

This is awesome while also being simple. Doing physics simulation objects rides the waves :jumpy:.

I have to refer to a problem that occured.

There is a difference between an animated displacement and an animated texture. Clintonman found an useable workaround.

Please load the attached scene and select the plane before starting the timer.
