I was playing with the magnet game, and then went to the LE editor and found some wierd things.
One was a network node and it had tsportal.caligari.com port 1109 Does anyone know what that is for? Seems like it might get sounds? It was all by itself.
Also found an avatar manager brick, but it seems to be missing anything that went with it.
And then there was a projector.
I saved them in case they could be something usefull. See attached files. |

hi notejam.
The network node is for connecting to shared space.
tsportal.caligari.com
port: 1109
is the default portal you get to when you connect to shared space by clicking the icon that looks like two 'snowcone' avatar heads looking at each other.
For Tue. night scriptor meetings, set that to:
tpportal.caligari.com
port: 1212
For the TNL! events, set it to
tpportal.caligari.com
port: 1111
when you connect, make sure you have the LE open, so you can see the network node you describe. When you do, you will see another network node added, which shows your login name.
You can change that portal to another number while connected, then press Enter. You will then jump to another portal.
You can also do this with scripting. |

Notejam, are you mean the magnet game post by me?
If yes, can you tell me inside with LE node you found the network node that contain above address? Why I didn't know about it? |

Yes it seems to be hitchhiking on your program Johny.
To find the Network node and avatar manager, load in your magnet game.
Then left click on the LE window button.
Then at top of screen left click on the lil orange triange at top of screen.
Do that two times. You should now see an avatar manager brick standing by itself, and a network brick standing by itself. (no wires connected to them)
If it doesnt appear on your system then it might be hitchhicking on my system. I have no idea why you do not know about it, possibly you do not know because its not part of your magnet game, but instead up two levels on the LE from where your game loads.
I think it comes from loading your game, but not entirely postive yet about that. Its just it re-appeared after i did a new install of truespace 7.5 that makes me think that, but maybe there is another reason?
Perhaps you do not know about it because its not wired to your game, but up two levels on the LE.
Also at one time on playing your game, making deletions of blocks etc to see what was doing what, I had an active x node block appear, but it locked my computer up, and I could never save it, or do anything so had to delete truespace 7.5, and do a re install. There were all kinds of interesting nodes that appeared at that time, and I sure wish I could of saved some of them, as I have not ever been able to get them back. |

You do not need the Magnet game to enter into these areas. Try it in a new scene. These areas are part of the trueSpace7.5.1 program that make it work. |

When you open the LE, you are looking at your 3D scene. However this is just one part of the whole tS environment, the Project. If you move up out of the project, you find the areas that control widgets, network connections, avatars, and more.
As noted, almost every part of tS is exposed in the LE interface and can be edited. New widgets? You can do that. And so on.
The Network Node is handy for jumping straight to a particular online scene, you can just enter the number of the port in there and go straight to it. The port numbers are easily found in the web pages that feature links to the shared spaces.
Naturally when opening the LE, to save on overwhelming people, we start at the Project level, but the Project is nestled inside everything else that makes trueSpace what it is. Do note of course that changing things in these other areas is changing trueSpace itself! As far as I know they are not scene specific (the scene saves only the project), so do be careful if making edits outside of the Project space as you could be permanently altering your copy of trueSpace.
Which is great of course when you want new widgets :)
HTH!
