"Alrighty then"....Here's my Jan. '09 Dali Tribute WIP !

I had a few ideas in my head, but only one really stuck out as being more of Dali Surrealism. Once again, this scene will only be created by the basic shapes from the Model side Primitives. I know that modeling this way is much harder than box modeling, but I haven't gotten to play around with modeling that way yet....there's always a new SMC or MMC scene that I'd rather toy with. But when I do finally commit to box modeling.....look out !

So far, all of my projects are done by eye (I don't use background sketches to model by). So any flaws that you may interpret as to not be proportional is just my personal artistic signature.....as well as can be seen in Dali's work !

As a big fan of the musical arts (as I'm sure most poeple are;)), my idea came from music. This idea came from the REO Speedwagon title "You Can Tune a Piano, But You Can't Tuna Fish". So here is my WIP:

"You CAN Tuna Fish !"

Here is part of my work so far....

As usual, very well done and very intriguing. I would hate to see what might be modeled if you chose "You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but......." :D

It kind of looks like some sort of prehistoric Bass ?! I don't know....it's just what I created at the time;)

... "You can pick your friends and you can pick your nose, but......." :D

LOL:D....Somethings I just don't enjoy having to pick !;)

Here's an upside down tree idea I've been toying with:

You say that now......but it was better than anything I could do before I tried it ;)!!! Everytime I buckle down and stick with creating an object, new hills are climbed, and I get a better view:).

Well.....I just got a new idea for my scene ! The ideas keep flowing like a fountain from Heaven !

good image. Make the water go UP it instead of OUT, and that would be Dali-eske.

I'd be impressed to see that without animation !!! Heck...I'm having a hard enough time trying to select my landscape layout :p!

I got a little ahead of myself when creating my next object. I modeled the majority of the body without applying my textures. Once I finally got around to seeing what it would look like with the materials dressed on the object, they didn't work. So.....I had to start all over again. This time, I applied my textures as I went along !;)

Here's my Blue Marlin:

Looks good. I used to have a fishing lure that was the spitting image of this when I was a kid.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen a Blue Marlin shaped fishing lure. Too bad if you still don't have it.....It would have made for a nice keep sake !;) Here's the wire frame, if you decide to build another one !!!:p....

I noticed some desert features in some of Dali's work, so I finally settled on this sandy platform for my little outdoor symphony :

One of my many favorite options inside of trueSpace is its ability to create so many possibilities for texture with materials !

Surrealism :

Dictation of thought in the absence of all control exercised by reason, outside of all aesthetic and moral preoccupation.

Well I see a scene, I see a tuna, but I don't see it completed. Is this Surreal, real or unreal...? No really.:D

Interesting elements but put them together!

You work shows the power of breaking a complex object up into simple components. You have made good models and recognizable characters (toys in earlier MMC) using the basic primitives.

well it's certainly surreal...

if you want to add a shade of realism though, your black keys shouldn't extend to the edge of the 'keyboard' - the black keys should be shorter than the white keys.... it's only a minor point though, interested to se ehow this is all going to fit together.
