As discussed in main forum area, here is what I was playing with in my research for method to kill excel process after finished with it. Is straight forward vbscripting.

One of the ideas that comes to mind for the script, would be an input connector, that gets set up as a file browse button. Get file from hard drive and it is loaded into the script. As it stands, the file path is hard coded into the script.

It is good to cover these types of scenarios so folks get understanding of what is happening.

This could turn into a tutorial of sorts. As a programmer, my druthers would be to move to vb script and not use jscript. Perhaps vbscript is more elusive, but my understanding is it should be faster. Perhaps down the road we can have some simple scripts to test, where we create one jscript and one vbscript version and run them.

VB should be more powerful and flexible, as this rendition of the labyrinth shutting down the excel demonstrates.

Power to call excel is in and of itself a most valuable tool for scripter to have. If the guy who started the thread put the right script object on the server to begin with, this may not have been so cluttered. He apologizes btw for this belly-flop on the upload :o
