Hi, i am making a sword, and for the handle i would like a kind of twisted handle.... so im wondering is there any way in Truespace 7.6 to twist a cylinder? like a spring (just not as much as a spring) i was thinking either to make several cylinders twist around each other (i know its hard to understand but i cant seem to find an immage of it) or just have a cube twist around itself like this http://www.dargate.com/231_auction/231_images/2689.jpg

thanks in advance

You can on the Model side, there is a nice twist tool. On WS side there is no such tool yet... but, we do have an interesting script that ProfessorKahaos made for us... It might not do the trick, but it's fun to play with anyway :D

Lots of neat information in the thread so I sent you the link for it all.

Have fun whichever way you choose to go.

hmmm, you might have to register in order to be able to read that and dl the file... Now I bet your interest is way up right now... huh? :D

Another tutorial that might give you some ideas is here. (http://www.caligari.com/store/special/news_jan03/tricks_and_tips.html)

Other options, Sweep in combination with face rotation/ scaling.
You could use a simple cube primitive and then add a couple Subdivision layers.

Here's a quick minitut on using the Lathe tool (Model side) to get a twisted shape.

After clicking the lathe icon the second time:

Hope these give you some inspiration.

No you do not have to buy anything. Best advice is to go and register trueSpace7.6, then return to the forums and use the same name and email address you used to register trueSpace7.6 for your forum registration. I manually check all forum registrations against those who registered trueSpace7.6. If I find a match and a valid name was used (as opposed to a bogus name) along with an email address I can match, the registration would be approved.

If I do not find a match, I also check against our exisiting customer db (folks who purchased in past and have a record with us). If I find a match I approve the forum registration.

If I do not find a match in either of the 2 searches or the name used was bogus, the forum registration is declined.
You can re-register with the same username you want, as once a registration is declined, the username is free to be used again if desired.

Also the server sends you an email after you register. That email contains a link you must visit to confirm your wish to register. This prohibits someone registering you without your knowledge. If you do not visit the link, I never get to see the registration for approval. So keep an eye in any junk email folders you may have for this email.

Hope this is helpful.
