(Haven't posted here for a few years.. For some reason, my username is no longer recognized by the system, so I'm posting as unreg.)

Just tried out the "free" tS 7.6 on my new Quad Core system.

I didn't get very far though, as just clicking the trueSpace6 tab at the top of the screen causes my system to become completely unresponsive (even CTL-ALT-DEL won't bring up task manager).

Does this application require multiple cores to be disabled before running? I've never seen an application hang this system like that before.

What happens, in more detail, is after clicking the tab, the application disappears from view, and a couple of grayscale toolbars appear (trueSpace tool bars not in color). Then... nothing. Can't alt-tab out of it, can't bring up the desktop, nor task manager. Have to hit the big red button to do anything else.

tS actually uses multicores very well, so no need for them to be disabled. I run it on my dual core and quad core without issue.

Not sure of the cause of this - do sign up for the forums again (or re-register for tS7.6 if that is needed) as then you can get into the tech support forums where these queries can be better handled ( and tech support can then contact you directly if necessary).

Is the scene empty? Try regenerating a new scene if not to ensure there isnt a bad object in there. Also try turning the bridge off and then try again.

HTH!
