trueBlue, do you know a trick to force VRay options panel to open as a panel over Modeler window (at a right-clic on Modeler's render icon) rather than in the Stack View ?

You read my mind Emmanuel, I just wondered how to get access to Vray without the stack.

Trueblue, thanks for this...it will help a lot!

Woops I made a mistake on the Bridge buttons. Download this version and install it again. You will have to Reset the toolbar for the changes to take place.
Paul: Did you Import this Model.rsl file into the same library where your other layouts are?
You can use the Tab key to point to whatever folder you want to show as Tabs. Layouts, Scenes, Objects, Materials are all supported.

Yup, that is how I did it; imported into the layouts library. When I loaded it...the tabs disappeared.:o

*runs over and worships Trueblue*

THANK YOU. this is exactly what I needed. 7 is now as responsive as my 4.3! I thought I had turned the 'workside' off.. seems I did'nt! now I can model away to my hearts content :)

I rarely render in tS for production work - that normally is rendered in Poser / Daz Studio or Maya.... and my TARDIS is using shaders that won't render in workspace so.....

Thanks for the comments. The Caligari Developers deserve all the credit giving us a very versitile application that we can customize mostly the way we want. This was very simple to create and you can do it too. I started with the default trueSpace6 layout, closed the Stack, closed the Workspace toolbars, sized the Status bar smaller, and saved the Layout with a different name. Then created the Bridge buttons and an installation script.

Paul: Not sure what to say except try resetting the Default Context from a different layout and if the does not work you could delete the config files.

Did you try the Assign Tabs key and point it to your Layout folder?

TrueBlue, do you know, by chance, a way to create a button that would send the Modeler scene to Workspace and keep Bridge OFF at the same time ?

When Johny made his Alternative Render tool we discovered that it was able to render VRay scenes but any change made in the Modeler scene was not taken into account in the next render.

In fact, when we clic the Render icon in Modeler, trueSpace automatically sends the scene to Workspace via the Bridge (even if it is set to OFF) and it renders in the Modeler window.

This doesn't happen with ARender, unless Bridge is set to ON (but this slows the work down and may introduce some geometry errors) ; so a quick way to "refresh" the WorkSpace scene according to the Modeler one would be helpful.

I hope it make sense....

Why beyond my knowledge but try this script with the Bridge Off. If it works we could create buttons for it.

YES ! It works ! You are a genius :jumpy:

Johny will be happy ;)

Do you think that toggle could be set to "Activate" all the time, or is there any possible side effect ?

Again I have NO idea what happens with this Nor the consequences by having it enabled. Only from my simple test it seems to work. If you activate it, and after you choose which way to Sync, in your case from Model, it seems to work continuously until you Deactivate it.
The community needs a Model - Vray material library if there isn't one. :)

Oh yes !

Here is the Modeler version of VRay material library ;)

To install it, simply copy the "vray material.mtl" file attached below into your tS/Library folder. Then, in trueSpace, Model side, open the Materials Library, right-clic to open the context menu, choose Library>Load, and pick up the VRay materials library.

Thanks Emmanuel. :)
Updated the Bridge buttons to include the Scene Sync - On/Off.
After you select the Install button, switch to Model and Reset the toolbar.

Great! Thank you again.

I did some experiment with big architecture scene. The side effect of keeping synchronization ON is that scene edition is slow : copy and edition of object are converted to WS in real time like with the Bridge ON mode.

On the other hand, there is geometries errors like the triangulations that sometimes occurs with Bridge ON.

I would say that Scene Sync ON mode will be mostly useful at material edition in a VRay scene. But it may also help in several other situations. :)

Sheer brilliance guys, i must say as a newb to truspace it can get extremely confusing having the 2 work areas, this simplifies things immensely.

great work

I've finally started moving my 6.6 setup to 7.6, and this script is very, very nice.

Thanks. :)
