I got some more triggers made. :) These are all pretty similar, they just trigger in slightly different ways. They all have an output number which you can link into "any" number inputs in the LE to trigger any kind of procedural animation. Animated lighting, carriages, lifts, fade effects, even morphs.
Here's a breakdown of what each trigger object does:
1. Animation Trigger IO
IN - Counts up from start number
OUT - Counts back down from end number
2. Animation Trigger IOR
IN 1 - The first time you enter the trigger area it will count up from the start number
IN 2 - The second time you enter the trigger area it will count back down from your end number
3. Animation Trigger I
IN - Counts from start to stop when you enter the trigger area
4. Animation Trigger O
OUT - Counts from start to stop when you leave the trigger area
5. Animation Trigger IC
IN 1 - The first time you enter the trigger area it starts counting from the start number
IN 2... - Any other time you enter the trigger area it will continue counting from where it stopped when you last left.
6. Animation Trigger OC
OUT 1 - The first time you leave the trigger area it starts counting from the start number
OUT 2... - Any other time you leave the trigger area it will continue counting from where it stopped when you last entered the area
7. Animation Trigger IR
IN - Starts counting from the start number when you enter the trigger area
OUT - Resets to the start number
8. Animation Trigger RO
OUT - Starts counting from the start number when you leave the trigger area
IN - Resets to the start number
The videos are done very quickly so I may have skimmed over some stuff. If you have any questions, just ask and I'll do my best to answer. One thing I know I missed in the videos is the "Control OUT" on the trigger objects. That can be linked into Script Command objects to trigger other scripts.
The first video quickly shows each trigger. The second quickly shows some simple examples of things that can be done with the triggers. I've also attached the scene with all of the examples so you can examine them. |

I just noticed that the "Animation Trigger O" output runs from "Stop" to "Start" instead of "Start" to "Stop". Not a big deal really, but here's a fixed version. I'll also re-upload the whole file above for anyone downloading it for the first time.
Sorry about that. Sometimes these little things slip by. |

I'm seeing so many great new potentials here Délé, I just wanted to show you at least one example of how incredibly useful I really think these new triggers all are:
Animation Trigger Application Idea #1
5. Animation Trigger IC
This trigger could be utilized within a scene to determine how many times a specific Avatar has visited a certain place and set to trigger an output script which would place that Avatar's username on a Display Board in that scene next to the number of times they have been there as well as the date and time of their last visit.
Imagine going to Caligari's truePlaces and when you arrive there is a large "Whiteboard" there similar to the ones already present in the Roundtable area and the Lakehouse area, only larger, better, and script-driven. These new whiteboards display who has been there before, and when you then click on a given user name it also displays exactly when, and how many times that particular user was there before.
If this were the case now within truePlaces, for instance, we would all be able to use it to determine the most likely times and places to meet up with anyone in truePlaces, as well as the most likely time to meet up with specific people we may wish to meet within a given truePlace scene in the future.
A very cool feature indeed!
Thanks to you Délé, this possibility and many others are now much easier to set up for our own scenes, and who knows, maybe Caligari will adopt a few now too!
Awesome!:D
