Here is a new File Menu/TopBar toolbar and installer.

1.) Create a new library named Toolbars in the Objects library.
1.) Import the tsTopBar.RsObj and the tsTopBar Loader.RsObj into the Objects/Toolbars library.
2.) In Default view within Model, insert the tsTopBar Loader into the Link Editor.
3.) Select the Load button.
4.) Follow the recommended procedures for saving layouts and configurations.
5.) Save current state. Which overwrites the Default.ctx file.

Note: If you ever need to restore the original select Reset from the triangle on the right side of the toolbar.
I have made some considerable changes to the original File Menu by replacing the Exit with the Shut Down, which is the recommended way to close trueSpace7. I have added Bridge Preferences (Auto, On, Off) and the Progress Report (Status Line) as well. In Full view, right clicking the Bridge menu will open the Desktop preferences.

I have not been able to delete the original File/Help menu because they are hard coded. What I did here is hide it with the tsTopBar Loader script, if you need it back change the scipt: "Hidden") = -1 to "Hidden") = 0

IMPORTANT: Do not rename tSTopBar.RsObj or tsTopBar Loader or it will not work correctly!
If you have downloaded the previous version, you must delete it first before importing this new and final version.

trueBlue,
Works like a charm! For me it installed to the left of the original and I had to drag and delete the original. Everything looks great. Thanks!
p.s I renamed it "trueBlueTopMenu"......... it even rhymes:)

Humm, what do you mean you had to drag and delete the original? The script should have closed the TopBar Aspect View toolbar. If what you mean, you had to Control drag the File and Help menus and close them, then I understand. Like I mentioned I have not been able to close those down as of yet. Anyway I am glad you like it. As you might have known, this was only tested on my machine and I use 1024 x 768. On a final note I have had problems with naming the tsTopBar to anything else besides tsTopBar. This is why I have you install it in a different library. So that it does not interfere with the other BiggerTopBarAspectViewToolbar!

After using your new top tool bar I noticed something I would change. You need a quicker way to get to the render options ie render screen or render object etc....they are buried. The options used the most should be easiest to get to. All the other options you changed or added are great. Do you have control on which way the drop downs open (to the right or left)?

I agree and I have updated the original files. Being able to control the dropdown direction, Left or Right depends where the toolbar is docked. If it does not have enough room to expand Right then it expands Left. There is also a 3-dot icon on the bottom right corner of the toolbars that control the Vertical or Horizontal positioning of the toolbars. I had to lose the icons, sorry Splinters! Icons and Text menus do not mix very well.

Never a problem TrueBlue, I am always amazed at what people can do with the tS7 UI.

Still, if you ever need access to the original icons in BMP, JPG or PSD format, just let me know.

Choice is good.;)

Seems I might have spoken too soon TrueBlue and I PM'd you on the subject. Original icon files remain the property of Caligari and are really only to be distributed in that form at their discretion...sorry...:o

TrueBlue, unless I'm missing something I think this is still the old file with new graphic picture of latest version.

Tried installing many times but still getting your original version.

I just checked the file again and it is correct.

If you have the older version installed select Reset from the black triangle icon on the right side of the toolbar. This will restore the original default toolbar.
The tSTopBar.RsObj can not coexist with another version with the same name in the same folder. Look in your folder where you installed trueSpace7 and tell or show me the name of all files in the:
C:\trueSpace7\tS\RS Libraries\Objects Items\Toolbars Items

There should be only two files named:
tsTopBar Loader.rsitem
tSTopBar.rsitem

If you have a file named tSTopBar(2).rsitem or similar then most likely you have renamed that file earlier. I have experienced this problem myself with other files as well. From within trueSpace7 you should delete all the files in the Objects/Toolbars library, then go to the folder mentioned above and delete any files if any. Then from within trueSpace7 Import the two files again.

You cannot rename either of these two files because the script uses both of these names within the script and it must be used in the Default layout only. No harm will be done it just will not succeed.

trueBlue,

I messed with it again today and finally got it working. I had two versions in the base directory and two had been renamed to *.2 (not by me). What I was trying to do which turned out to be in error:

Loaded both your files to RSLibraries/ObjectItems/BaseItems

Then within TS I Imported both to same directory so I never had the file in the Toolbar directory. Once I moved it there it worked.

Another question, using your new TopMenu the cursor keeps giving me a text boxe with the same name inside. How do I turn it off in TS?

I am not following you here. Can you post a cropped screen shot of this?

Don't get me wrong this is not a problem you created. I just want to know how to turn this off. The help text displays when the cursor sits for a second.

In the Help menu there is Tool Tips, but this only turns off help text in some of the old model toolbars. The only way you could do this with the new toolbars is edit each toolbar button and remove the Help text information.

Have you been using System Restore? IIRC, it does something similar to stuff that was installed/changed after the Restore point you restored to.
