it's in the sdk..I saw it many months ago..it took about 1/2 hour to figure out how to get it to work from the example..and put it in a plugin..:D
glad you like it..
as you might know it needs a proper path profile or it will not work..my tsx will probably crash too.. it did on a straight path.. |

I downloaded it...but can you not get the same result by adding a path to path library and then loading it into the scene? If it's not attached to an object it automatically turns into a poly plane object in the shape of the original path.
Works great with closed paths, with open ones, not so much. |

spacekdet..first you need to deselect everything to add a path that's not attached to a selected object..
oh and guess what, they removed that feature on the object tool in ts7..you have to select none in the object info panel..:(
this does seem to handle open curves better ..just don't attempt a straight line..or D'OH crash..
too bad you can't snap path points to anything..all the draw tools would be better.. |

I am very happy with Stan's plugin.
If you use the path library to create a shape drawn using the path tool, the object is created in the center of the scene. With Stan's tool, it is created where you just draw it. Very usefull when you draw the outline of a polygon over a scanned image used as template.
If you want to place the controp points of the path at a precise location, use the Advance to next keyframe icon to put your object on the desired control point and edit the location in the Object Info x,y,z fields.
If you wish to snap path points, or do some better spline polygon drawing, you can use Libor Stolc's plugin. It is now in english : http://www.pcdesign.cz/plugins_eng/VeCAD_based_plugin.htm
Stan, I don't understand what removed feature was in the object tool ? |

Emmanuel..click on an object in ts6.6 ..make it active..go to object tool icon, click on the icon it will deselect and then look in object info panel , you will see "none" selected..was very handy.. |

Pretty much what it says it does. Turns a path into a polygon. It's a tool that, i think, was phased out. It has it's uses, though they are limited.
I'd rather have the edge to path tool personally. ;) |
