I've made the decision to move on to a mature application that has completed features and many more usable features (for me) than trueSpace.

My decision was based on productivity and doing what I want to do when I want to do it.

I won't mention the software, but it's well established and well known in the CG Industry.

I'll pop in from time to time.

Did you come to that conclusion based on modeling, rendering or something else?

Good luck James with whatever software you choose although I never understood this 'moving onto another program' thing. We all use many programs to get the job done..if I was stuck in Photoshop I would go to a PS forum even if I used Paint shop more.

Surely there is nothing to lose by having a few programs in your arsenal..it is not like marriage! Especially as tS is free!

Still, good luck with your ventures with whatever program you decide to concentrate on.

Personally, I will use what gets the job done and keep my options open...:D

I agree completely with Splinters on this... I use several different packages, thought they are all older versions except 1 now. TS has some wonderful potential, some things it does can not be done in other packages as easily. Some times I disappear off doing photography, modeling, work, photography, some 3D and did I mention photography :). This is a nice place to come back to and see what everyone is doing. You get a warm fuzzy feeling here that is not easy to find on the net...

Best of everything to you James, it's fun to see your energy and hear your opinions here.

You've still got to learn how to use it. If it's well established and well known, it's likely to be well-hard as well (I know this from experience). Good luck.:)

Just remember, you might get more mature features, but you won't get a more mature community ;)

Good luck!

Si's right - this community is excellent.

I'm trying to do a similar thing in getting to grips with 'industry standard' packages - but after 6ish months look where I am? Still here ;) I don't mean that in a bad way - I'm here becuase tS is a great tool with a great forum. Something I haven't found elsewhere... And tS give me Vray for cheap :D:D

Good luck, hope it all works out for you. :)
