I want to start to say that I realy like the improvements that TS 7.6 has

made and I see it has gained speed and is now much more consistent !

What i am missing and realy find a left out chance is that workspace can

load and display pretty high poly scenes and objects but when you want

to import anything bigger your lost !

I tried to load a big object into Truespace to display in workspace realtime but it failed !

One of the most important new plugs we need (my opinion ) is a very

stable new workspace side luuv that imports big meshes PLUS big collada

objects !:)

So this is more like a wish then a rant !

I didnt put it into feature suggestions because we shouldnt have to wait for

TS 8 !

When I posted to the moi 3d forum about the new TS 7.6 an easy obj. import was way on top !

Or am I missing something ?

LOL guys. Let me get it working first. ;)
Planned support is for FBX, OBJ, 3DS, DXF, and Collada both import and export. I'm only planning to support polygon geometry for version 1.0. Animation and other stuff will have to wait for 2.0. The export should be full Autodesk compatible as well.

Should work fine. App specific material stuff I may not implement though. We'll have to see how involved it gets.

Yeah not expecting full support !

Just basic ...

You know when you have dozens of textured faces

retexturing again can be a pain so it would be wonderfull

to keep the work that you have done prior to exporting from

the other software !

Jack as soon as you have something I will be more then

happy to help you test it !

What I could use right now are real world files to load. Couple of each FBX, OBJ, Collada, DXF, 3DS. Ones with internal and extern textures as well.

Only problem is the file size ......

the real big ones are to large for mail !
