I just wanted to point out my new video series currently available on turbo squid. At some point in the near future I will be doing a masters series, but thesae should get a lot of you going. Try before you buy, that is why I included some free videos as well.

They are available here...

BTW, here's something that I think will help you:

Click in your 3D window. Click the settings panel:

6467

Scroll down to "desktop". Click on the "Default" dropdown and select "Widgets":

6468

6469

:D

Ha Ha, you're right..you'll notice I get ahead of myself often in them...tying to think, talk, and model simultaneously is quite difficult, and I over look things sometimes.

It's pretty hard modeling and recording under pressure like that. You're pretty entertaining while doing it too. There's something about Norm's vids, after a while I start nodding off. LOL Sorry Norm it's not your fault! :p

To be honest, I just try to stay as "me" as possible - minus any vulgarity.\

I just finished recording the first piece on the torso. I am editing it now and will have it up tonight, hopefully. I will split it into more than one video to increase the quality.

Yeah, that's been a problem for some...once you figure it out...you've got it, but it could throw a person off. Turbo squid needs a better implementation in my opinion.
I've completed the next portion, as soon as I get it through quality control it will be up. Quality control is a new thing, I wanted to improve a bit so I've asked someone here to start going through these.

I will offer the series in packages e.g. modeling the head, all 6 video's $5.00 (with a possible/probable price reduction) offering an easier method of finding all the parts of the lesson.

they've been great so far, keep it up. think you're under-selling yourself though. How long till you get to uv mapping?

Well, the original video's were much longer and I had already done that before I realized turbo squid had a 20mb file size limitation, which threw of my plan...but I imagine it will be under 2 weeks time(giving myself a large margin there, probably sooner, but don't quote me.)

This is no fly by night series..I have REAL intentions and I had a lesson plan mapped out, but I got tired of making people wait so I just jumped in, loosely following my original lesson plan.

BTW: I would like to thank you and all the others(both of them;) ) who have checked out the series, I'm not hitting my goal in terms of income....but it does help, and I get to do something I love.

instead of posting all over the forums I'm going to start using this thread for what it is intended for, If you head to the first page in this thread you can see our progress so far. I am uploading the two new videos that took us into the arms and legs now and they will be up soon(before noon here in Texas).

I'm also using a file splitter to get better quality video out to you guys, as is they are larger files and longer video. Not so much fuzz where the edges are drawn.

To merge the files...

1)unzip any zipped files

2)put them all in the same location

3)double click the .bat(MS DOS Batch file)

4)wait.......done(should take under 30sec to a minute, depending on the machine)

This will give you the original video file back with it's original name.

Uploading the next part now(adding shape pt1), The part after that will be free(adding shape pt2)....
There appears to be another file size limit. I have removed this part(adding shape pt1) as it exceeds my overall size limit. I will attempt to correct this through turbo squid as well as work on an alternate method of getting these video's shorter. I apologize for the in convenience.

This currently incomplete series is on hold until I get my site built(I just got it about 1 minute ago). I am still working on the series(from scratch), but I need to let people know before they begin to make purchases at turbo squid. Stay tuned.

They will not allot me the space I require so I went and paid for some hosting. I will be continuing the series and will make an announcement once the site is up. I will keep the video's up until I move to the site.

There's a nice PHP tutorial over at 3DBuzz if you need to set up user accounts and stuff.

The site is up, http://www.scatteredpixel.com (yes I know pixel isn't plural, pixels was taken, but not in use???) Nothing much going on there yet. I set up a merchant account with paypal. Here are the forums, I need to set it up, but I gotta get to work.http://scatteredpixelforum.freeforums.org. I would also like to have someone here moderate, preferrably someone on the eastern hemisphere(with good English) or someone that can check in there during the day(while I am at "the day job").

Making some headway with payloadz.com and should start "work as usual" in the next week.
I have a new buissness plan. The files will be able to be downloaded from my site for free, but they will be encrypted. The passkey will be bought through payloadz.com at this link.
http://store.payloadz.com/results/str-asp-m.53829-n.nowher_-end-results.html
I need to go update my site so that the product actually exists.:D
...Done. The interface and DOF video's are up, and I am back to work as usual...

I guess you're about the only 3rd party that has stuck it out. So a link is definitely in order, congrats BTW. I'm still actually working on the site, updating bit by bit.

The video's are compressing now(batching)...I'm going to create both hi def and low def versions that will use the same passwords to unzip. This way those of you with slower connections can still have some sort of access.

time here is 19:19, and the video's are still compressing...I will have them up tonight though.http://scatteredpixel.com/My_Homepage_Files/IMG_80

Quick FYI, until I update the site, the link to mr.bones is broken due to an additional "http" at the fore of the link. It will be fixed by tomorrow. Anyone else that would like a link let me know and I'll see what I can do.

The site is updated. While the files are being updated swing by the forums...I get lonely all by myself:( ... You can always suggest the next FREE tutorial in the holiday specials thread.
