Well, My system has no PCI Express slot. I'm trying to locate an AGP compatible video card so I can use the workspace side effectively.

So far I've found these but they appear unavailable for purchase:

GeForce 7600 GT

ATI x1950 pro

The ATI Radeon HD 2600XT is newer and available but one review recommends it for home theater movie viewing and "older faster cards" for 3D games. I suppose the 3D game demands are similar to TS's.

Any suggestions for AGP cards?

Some of TS's economy, which is what draws many of us to it, is countered by the need for a $12,000,000 computer, replaced or upgraded every 3 to 5 minutes in order to use the latest hardware.

Hi Finis. I believe I am using an X1600 Pro, which I purchased a year or so ago. It runs the Workspace just fine for me. So I would say, the 1950 would work well also. I suspect the 1950 is 'better' than the 1600 I am running. So, if one reviewer claims the 1950 is good for older games, and I am using a 1600, the 1950 should be fine.

I used to like upgrading my PC's but the next time I will have to build an entire system from scratch.

Same here.

You don't actually need that powerful a card to run workspace. It really depends how 'nice' you want it to look. I have a second machine which I use for beta testing which runs workspace adequately and only has a GeForce4 MX440 which is not by any means a powerful card. Whilst I would not advise getting something so old, don't think you need to shed out loads of money to use workspace.:)

I got a Evga geforce 7600 gt for the AGP slot. It works fine with TS 7.51 workspace.

The main thing is that the card natively support (rather than emulate) pixel shader's, as this will mean substantially less memory transfer over the agp bus. Pixel shaders go back to geforce 3 (but were'nt standard even into geforce 4)

Just because your card doesn't have shaders does not mean you won't be able to use truespace. It just means that some 'realtime' features may not work as well.
