I know this is blasphemous, but has anyone successfully ran Windows XP and ts7 on the new Macbook Pro with Intel Duo core processor?


Specifically did the graphics card render ts7 Player view successfully?


I'm a multimedia developer and I have to test on windows and mac, and it would be nice to have one laptop to do the job, but I want to make sure the video card on the macbook pro will handle everything ts 7 can do, like multi-threading, transparancy, shaders, all that 3d stuff :D

FWIW, I was able to borrow a co-workers Macbook Pro and install TruePlay on it. The graphics card handled the transparency and shadows just fine. I didn't think he'd want me installing ts7.11 so I'm guessing it will be powerful enough to handle it.


I'd be interested in how the duo-core processor on the laptop would help with render speed... :)

Just dipping in for a sec before I catch some sleep.


For software rendering, Vray uses both cores of my core 2 duo chip to 100%. So render time should be much improved. I can't remember if I tested Lightworks, but it should be multi threaded as well. Of course core 2 duo is already the fastest chip on the market and it's very affordable. So I think until AMD can come out with something comparable there's not really any sense not getting a C2D CPU.


For hardware rendering, the difference will be less and video card will be more important. Dual Core does make the system and tS much more responsive though.
