Still lusting after a second display, eh? :D I know prices aren't good for you in Canada... I forget, did you say you didn't have enough room for the 2nd 1 to be a CRT? If you have got the room, that'd be your best bet. I don't know what prices are like over there, but if I wanted a 19" CRT I could get 1 for about £100, compared to about £202 [£182 + £20 dead pixel checking service] for the 19" LCD I'm looking at. Infact I just saw some refurbished 19" CRTs going for under £30, so maybe you could find something like that over there, assuming you have the room.

As to useage... It's definitely worth it. I pretty much agree with all the positive things said on that old thread. If I don't end up with 1 of those keyboards I mentioned in the other thread for whatever reason, I may end up putting another graphics card in & going triple monitor. For the 3rd I'd most likely get 1 of those 1s made for in-car useage - an 8" touchscreen, & have most of my buttons on there.

Dual monitors is the way to go. Even in Canada prices for lcd monitors are cheap. The only problem I have is when my wife comes in to use Google she closes trueSpace 7 on monitor one which leaves monitor two with the other half of trueSpace. This means you must reset defaults which wipes out all your customized work eq. splinters large icon setup.:(

I found a 2nd monitor quite inexpensively through my company's workplace auction (only $15 for a HP 930 19" monitor). If you work for a larger company, they frequently rid themselves of older equipment to get new ones.

Now is a pretty good time to pick up an extra CRT used since everyone is switching to flatscreens. Of course if you want a flatscreen too you'll have to shell out a few bucks more.

From what I hear, Nvidia 6200 will support 2 monitors (one through VGA and one through digital port. The card comes with a digital to VGA adapter for the digital port)

Since I already had an adequate video card I'm finding the new desk to house the two monitors (plus a few things) to be the largest expense.

Since I already had an adequate video card I'm finding the new desk to house the two monitors (plus a few things) to be the largest expense. That's the main reason why I want to go from dual CRT to dual LCD - with LCDs that are wall mountable I can get a couple of monitor arms & have them exactly where I want them. The current positioning of my CRTs is less than ideal, and there's nowhere else to put them.
