After installing Truespace, at first tool panes like the Material, Shaders, Primitives, etc. Libraries would stay open until I clicked again on the relavent tool icon to close it. In other words I could have the Material, Shaders, and Primitives Libraries all open at the same time.

While I was working in Truespace crashed. I didn't lose anything important but after restarting, non of the tool panes will stay open again. Using the default config and reinstalling Truespace made no difference. :(

How do I make one or multiple Tool panes stay open until I click their icons to close them?

Hi Manon,

I'm unsure of the trueSpace version you are using but here's how it is done in trueSpace6.6, hopefully the solution is similar to your version:

I have vs 6.0 and below is how they worked originally.

When I clicked on one of the panes again only that one would close leaving the others still open. I'd like to have it that way again.

v. 6.6 here and it looks like only one Library can be open at a time.
It may have been different in v. 6.0, I don't remember.
I think it's hard coded into the program so I don't think it's possible to have more than one Lib open at once.
Was there a specific reason you needed more than one open?

Somehow it worked like that after first installing it and then stopped working that way after the crash.

With the various libraries open i could go back and forth with one or the other without having to reopen them separately as I do now.

Well, I'm stumped. It may be a 6.0 only 'feature', like I said, it's been a while since I upgraded.

A couple tips that may help soften the blow, so to speak:
Open the Material Editor (Control M)
Right Click any of the color/bump/reflectance icons in the ME to open it's Library. Position them close to the ME, then close them using the X 'close' icon.
Now tS will 'remember' where you had them last.
I put them above the ME window, since the options for the color/bump, etc, shift to the right and roll downwards when you expand them.
Save your config in the Config Library, just to make sure.
This will save you the trouble of mousing down to the Library toolbar anytime you need a shader library open.
To quickly close any open Library without hunting for the tiny X 'close' icon, right click drag in the Lib window, and when the large gray X appears, release the mouse button.

My apologies if you already knew this info.
Sorry I don't have any better info on whether your crash changed tS's behavior.
Can any other 6.0 users confirm or deny whether you can have more than one Library open at the same time?
