I have ts5.2 but I was watching a ts6.6 tutorial on gamespace:02_ImagePlanes. I have been able to do most of the stuff to the point where it shows mirroing the half figure. When I use the mirroring tool in ts5.2 it just flips the half figure, it does not make the other half as in the tutorial. Can't ts5.2 do it? I looked on the faq and search areas but there is no info for this that I can find. Can anyone help? Thank You.

Mirror modeller was a plug in before it became integrated into tS. Sounds like you are using the mirror object tool there (two 1's back to back). You would need the plug in I guess...:o

Yes, mirror modeling is not present in tS5.2, and was only introduced in tS6.6. There was a plug-in available for it in tS5.2, but that was from Primitive Itch who are no longer with us :( It's still in the dePak though (http://www.caligari.com/products/trueSpace/ts5/Plugins/Caligari/dePak/default.asp?Cate=Caligari)

Not sure if there is another mirror modeling plugin out there at the moment.

You can try modeling, then when complete, copy the object, ensure the axis is at the line where you want it to mirror, then use the Mirror Object tool and rotate 180 degrees, and then try boolean union. But, a lot of work, and the boolean union has a good chance of failing.

You could just glue into a hierarchy in place of the boolean union, but no good for skinning or SDS.

not absolutely sure anymore, but look in your ts5 tsx folder, there was a plugin called 'simply symmetry' that is a mirror tool that came with ts5 as a plugin freebie

I have used the SS plug-in and it does mirror the half object. It just does not continue to mirror any of the next additions to the original half. Hopefully ts6.6 will be offered at a reduced rate at some latter date. Thank You for your input. I'm trying to learn how to use ts5.2 and maybe become as good as the Wizard. haha. Have a great day all. :-)

tS6.6 is frequently offered at a reduced rate to tS5.2 customers. Be sure that your email is allowing mails from caligari.com to get through (ie check spam and junk mail filters), and that you registered your copy of tS5.2, and you'll receive those offers via email.

Users of earlier versions get what we think are pretty good discounts on moving up to newer versions :)
