My guess is that this has been reported, but I can't find it in the forum so here goes:

When I right-click an object in Workspace to edit the mesh, the edges, faces, and vertices don't display correctly. It seems that they are there, but no where near the model and not in the correct orientation. They look to be in random places all around the workspace, it's hard to describe.

This problem occurs on a notebook with a Radeon 9200 (old) and Truespace 7.6. I also use Ts on my desktop (c2q6600/gf9800) and it this installation doesn't exhibit the problem. The notebook has the latest video drivers that I can find (2.6.x).

Is this a known problem and is there a workaround? As I mentioned, Ts works great on my desktop, but I would like to be able to use the notebook as well.

That graphics card is a DirectX8 card, and doesn't support the DirectX9.0c that tS requires for workspace rendering, putting it below our minimum supported spec. (see card details at )

You can turn down the settings for the workspace to make it compatible, but you will lose much (eg the real-time shadows, shaders, etc). Should make it workable for modeling etc, but not for real-time rendering.

Head in workspace side to File -> HW Setting and reduce from Full Quality to Pixel Shader2.0, and retest, then to Pixel Shader 1.4 (which I think is where it will work) and retest, and keep going down until you get no unexpected results.

Thanks for the feedback Tom, I should have checked this first. I believe I already tried what you mentioned, but it didn't cause the mesh to show up on the model. I'm not sure if I changed the setting then restarted, I'll give that a go. I have a feeling that my notebook is just too old.
