It appears that Vray's material editor crashes ts7.6 right out of the box. After a fresh install of the latest version of Vray and trueSpace, I get the following error that can immediately crash trueSpace. The problem occurs when you already have the Vray shaders open in your Library Stack and you attempt to click one of the Vray shader icons in the Vray Material Editor. The default behavior is to open the shader panel as a floating window. However, if you have it already open in your library stack it will crash trueSpace immediately.

This also occurs if you have any of the Vray shader panels already open in the library stack such as colors, displacement, reflectance, or transparency. Because the library stack is such a common element in all the predefined trueSpace layouts, this problem is both annoying as it is common. Here are three easy steps to reproduce the problem, a screen shot appears below:

1) Open trueSpace, then open the Library browser

2) Using the Library browser, open Vray Shaders - Color

3) Using the Vray Material Editor click the Vray Color Shaders Icon.

Please fix this as this is a real hindrance to production level work!

The screen shot shows two yellow bubble comments that show, basically in two steps, what it takes lose all your hard work. I love trueSpace, but can we get this fixed?

Couldn't find it in a hurry, but I think it was reported before and it will be working with next patch.

Suggestion for the moment, check the "Attempt to save current scene" as this gives you a good chance to save your work.

Has a suggested work around in there too, which is to not click the spheres in the material editor if the VE Material Library or the Bitmap Library is open

"

Keep in mind if you click on one of the balls while that library is open it will crash. This is because of a change that only allows one copy of a library to be open at a time. (The crashing part is a bug.) So don't click on any of the balls if you are opening the libraries manually.

That one should let you avoid the crash :)

HTH!
