Posted a bug report just now. I spent over an hour making a video showing the problem.

Tried to upload the video file - a 1.39MB .wma file.

I have an upload speed of 128kbps.

Got this error message:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded inc:\Inetpub\wwwroot\truespace\newattachment.php*o n line*14

It is possible that during the creation of the post, too much time elapsed before you submitted.

Were you able to upload the video as yet?

Thanks Norm - yeah I though of that so went through the steps really quickly - same result.

Strangely enough I have just uploaded the video to the relevant thread from my older computer with no problems at all:confused:

hmmm ... what a wicked web we weave!
So somehow this might be machine specific. That sure narrows it down
Perhaps over time we can pin it down and figure out what is happening.

quoting Shakespeare Norm? You're a man of many talents! :D

I was starting to wonder about it being my machine after all (whicj would be embarressing!). Odd that my newer faster less-than-2 years old PC should be problematic but my slow 8 year old hybrid PC did the job!

Anyway, it may also be related to the specific route the uploads took through the net. Apparently a lot of local net servers here in New Zealand are comparatively fast and some of the older servers in the US interpret incoming data from here as DOS attacks and so shut out the upload. This was a problem a while back but I haven't had any problems recently.

Whatever the cause I'll keep you advised should any other problems arise.

Thanks Norm.

A wild guess and another probable cause is having an Anti Virus program check the file before uploading causing the timeout.

I had a similar problem when I posted a video demonstrating a possible bug connected to snapping and rotating. it failed to upload the video but trying again it worked...similar kind of error.

Could be Bob but I think it's unlikely. The 3 failed attempts went from my new pooter to the DSL modem and thus to the Net.

The successful attempt took the file from my new pooters HD across my network to my old computer to the modem and onto the net. Both pooters have fully updated AVG AV.

I don't know a lot about data transfers across the net but I know enough to know this ain't right!

This is why I'm an artist and not a computer tech!:D
