I saw this in Ts 7.51 DEMO as well as v. 7.6,

...when I edit NURBs, it occassionally goes wacky as shown in the images below...any solutions? This makes editing a pain...:(

Pick a different viewpoint such as top or side etc.. switching as needed until you get the desired results. Working in the perspective view can lead to things going wrong.:D

I'd still prefer to know why it does that and if there is a solution...I am in the habit of using viewport, you see...:p

Define 'wacky'...I don't see what you're trying to depict in your screenshot.

...see the second image? I go and moved or scale that isocurve, and the Nurbs sphere is suddenly enveloping my screen, so I can't see what I'm doing on the Sphere itself...

Are you using the widget to move/scale the curve?
Is Object Scale also selected at the same time?
(hard to tell with those hidden indicators!)

But what I really think is happening is that if you move/scale a curve that shares a point with other curves (like the north and south pole of the nurb primitive in your example), the rest of the object will resize accordingly to try to maintain the surface continuity. The whole sphere will then scale as it follows that point. Nurbs are all about defining a surface using curves and points... those particular pole points are 'special' because they are shared with other curves. The other curves are adjusting to follow it's position, so the whole object thus gets bigger.

Try selecting a curve, then right clicking on it.
Now you can select the individual control points that make up the curve.
Select the 'north pole' of the nurbs sphere and move and scale it using the control point selection tools that pop up. Click the 'handle' to change the flow of the curve (holding Control will allow you to select the handles independently) or click directly on the control point to move it.
Observe how the rest of the sphere reacts.
It's different than when you select a curve made up of multiple points and scale that as a whole.

Tip: It helps to have some 'free space' when working with nurbs and especially draw panels- empty workspace to click and drag in is important to maintain... if a draw panel's edges are off screen, and you are zoomed in too close, results can get unpredictable.
