OK - I noticed this bug when I was working with 7.5 and tried to export an object during Stephen May's TS-Vue tutorial.
Every time I saved the file as a .obj, or .cob and tried to import it into vue, I got an error that the file could not be read. I didn't report the bug then because I knew that 7.6 would be out soon. I just tried it again, and still got the same error.
I can save the file as a .cob - open it with 6.6 and save it again - then it works just fine in Vue.
Using the Model side from 7.6, I get a file that is 9,030 KB in size
Using version 6.6, the exact same file is 2, 571 kb
Here are the files

I think this may be a materials or bridge related issue, where Workspace info is getting saved into the file even though it shouldn't be. I was under the impression that it had been solved for 7.6, though. :( Will pass your scene on to the devs to take a look at. |

Your 6.6 version object opens in Vue 5 for me. Is that the model from trueSpace 6.6 or exported from trueSpace7.6 as a 6.6 file? I loaded the 7.6 version file and exported it as a 6.6 file(size 2577) and it also loaded into Vue 5. Maybe the tutorial instructions are out of date. What were the steps you took to export from trueSPace7.6 ? |

right... I created it in 76... saved as a cob... the 76 will not open in Vue.
I took the cob and opened it in 66 and saved it again, and THAT one opens in Vue. both SHOULD open in Vue. That way no one has to buy a previous version of the program to export to another program :D |

Are you choosing truespace 6.6 cob format when you save from truespace 7.6? |

ah.. I didn't think to do that because it didn't work in 7.51. But I just tried it and it worked. For some reason, I was under the impression that saving a .cob file in version 7 was the same as in 6.6
So I guess the bug is that they need to put 7.6 for the first option ;) |

I remember messing around with Vue Infinite PLE and cob imports. The only import I could get to work consistently was like 3.0.
Vue imports are several versions behind unless it's 3Dmax or some other major 3D application which get more attention. |

Yes, it's important to actually pick "6.6 COB" to ensure 6.6 compatibility. The default COB format from 7.6 is a little different, designed for 7.6 :) But choosing an earlier COB standard should ensure compatibility with 6.6 and programs that used to load 6.6 COBs.
HTH!
