I don't think this was intended. Click in the Yellow circle brings up" Bitmaps" selection box and Ctrl Click in the Yellow circle brings up Windows "Load Image" box.

This is what I've been looking for...bypassing the deadend bitmap Library and using Windows file pickers.

Ctrl-double click also does this for materials, and Ctrl-single click for changing hdri in vray.


I think maybe more consistency with this would be ideal. Being able to right-click and bring up explorer would be better for me. Maybe then it would follow that double-clicking to reset a material would work, as I tend to do this far less than loading textures.

All bitmap button controls should be CTRL-single click for opening the windows file open dialog. If you see any that still require a CTRL-double click, please post a bug report.

I too preferred the system where left click opened Library/ right click to open Windows file picker rather than holding a key while clicking. (what's that clunky sound?)
I feel like a dope for not figuring this out sooner, but I'm glad to finally know the 'secret'.
