7.6 Dual Window Curser Flicker // Bugs

In 7.6, when I have two 3D windows for poly modeling and I am in point edit mode, the curser flickers between its normal form and the little two-headed curser that appears if you move the curser over the edge of a folder to resize it. If I expand one of my two windows, the problem goes away. The problem doesn't appear in 7.51, so something is different. It only appears if I move the mouse, and the flickering other-cursers are very rapid (and very distracting).

Even stranger, I opened my ZDsoft video recorder to make a little WMV file to show what was happening and the problem went away. I've checked this several times. If the video recorder is open, no problem. Close the recorder, and the flickering comes back if I have two windows open. Since I can leave the recorder on or poly-model in 7.51, I'm OK, but I'd like to solve this.

I'd like to know if anyone else experiences this problem. Thanks for any clues.

Wow that sounds really odd. Maybe you could capture some video of it using CamStudio instead?

Thanks Jack

CamStudio has the same effect of making the problem disappear, but only while it is recording. Obviously, this confirms the Copenhagen interpretation of Heisenberg's uncertainty principal.:)

Further, CamStudio, when left open in the background does not cure the problem the way the ZDSoft recorder does.

I was about to invite you to fly over in the corporate jet (yours) and see it for yourself, when I thought of a true "screenshot", using a digital camera in movie mode. Quality is terrible, but you can see the flickering ghosts, both the little two-headed cursers and the secondary standard curser which flickers at about 10 o'clock relative to the main curser. In the center is the border between two TS 3D windows.

Altogether too weird for words.

Yeah that's rather weird. Looks like some kind of driver issue or something. Do you have a Wacom or other drawing tablet hooked up?

You may want to contact Paul over at tech support and send him your default.ctx file to pass on the devs as well.

No, nothing else is hooked up - mouse, keyboard, monitor - that's all.

Vital signs: Dell XPS 410 Dual Processors - Vista Home 32 bit - NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS - TrueSpace 7.6

What's the best way to contact Paul, email, phone, online?

Thanks again, Jack
