that issue can be remedied by setting 'ownedby' on the toolbar's node in windows manager space.. you can use the 'snappedto' value from the toolbar unless there is none set, then get it from a toolbar that doesn't show when minimized..custom toolbars are not set when created..

Question though:


Is this setting persistent?


In other words, if we close truespace then open it again, do we have to perform the process all over again? Or does the setting remain in place (persistent)?


Can we save that setting as part of a layout configuration?

the setting is persistent, it is the winid of the window its ownedby..
here is an example of my floating 3d window and main workspace toolbar..save the layout and a copy of default.ctx as backup

the only thing it won't do is hide them when in model side. you must make a titlebar icon or text button to hide/unhide them, even the main workspace toolbar . the devs don't care much about model side issues like that..
