Mouse pointer jumpy and flashes in Vista // Bugs

Am using Vista SP1 with TS 7.51 - and the mouse pointer is very jumpy in TS, making it extremely difficult to operate.

Eg, as I move the mouse, it alternates/flashes quickly between 2 locations approx 50 pixels apart. This only occurs when the mouse is in TS, in Workspace, Modeling, menus, toolbars...

I'm using both an Alps touchpad and a wired USB optical mouse and have restored all default settings with my mouse driver to see if that makes a difference but it doesn't (for example, no acceleration, no pointer shadows, etc)

Anyone else experiencing this and/or know of a solution? Direct manipulation GUI is not effective for me if the mouse doesn't "behave".

Thanks,

Bob

I am finding I cannot use realtime solid mode in workspace on my main PC. Very strange as I have latest WHQL drivers and a decent card (7900GT). Can't explain it...but no problems with mouse.

Sorry

Eliminate the obvious first: is Grid Mode toggled 'on'?

Since when does that affect the mouse when accessing toolbars and menus? I don't believe you understood his problem.

I understand it now (missed the bit about jumpy menus), and we've eliminated one possible solution.
See? Progress already.

I've found that the latest nVidia Vista drivers don't work with TrueSpace. The only driver set for Vista that I've had much luck with is the 163.75 driver.

You can get the driver and a modded .inf file to let you install it here:
