I've been experimenting with the DX landscape shader from the sample scene. I've just created a plane with some subdivisions, aplied the shader and tried to deform the plane by moving a face upwards to see how the texture changes. Suddenly the screen freezed, went black and turn on again, with the message that the display color depth has changed and DX display was turned off. I could repeat that problem with the same scene every time I moved a face.

This may be an SDS/DX bug. If so, I've run into this before. It may also have to do with SDS and grouped objects. I haven't totally nailed it down yet.

Try doing the work as much as you can without SDS and then adding the SDS at the end for rendering.

I did not use any SDS (subdivision surface), just a grid which I diveded a few times the regular way. It's really low poly (~400 faces).

Hmm... sounds like something different. I forwarded it to the devs. Can you leave the scene up for a little while longer?
