Hello all, I have yet another issue that I think is a bug in TS7.51.

Whenever I render a model with bones and joints on it, and sometimes also with locks, the bones, joints, and locks, all turn into visible objects when I render:(. I tried both rendering engines, VirtuaLight, and LightWorks, and it makes no difference. This happens at random times (or maybe it's some button or setting I used).

Any suggestions about fixing this rendering/animation issue?

Thanks in advance,

- tamtam

There is a fix for this, but I can't remember what it is. Hopefully one of the others will drop by and post the link. You may want to search the forums and see if you can find the relevant threads. Sorry I can't be more help on this one. :o

If using tS7.5 workspace bones and rendering Model side with LW -

Select your skeleton. Right click on the Build Skeleton tool. In the stack, in the Panels aspect, choose Default as the view (you have a little drop down list of different views, Default, Colors, and Skeleton Tool - it opens in Skeleton Tool view I believe, so just swap that to Default).

For Rig, choose Hide. And that should be it. You can also choose to Hide the locks etc if doing the Rig doesn't hide the whole lot at once.

HTH!

I found some posts by others on the TS7.5 forums. The posts were exactly what I needed.

I will post here a zip file that has the posts I found (in MS Word document form, copied, and pasted), and they seem usefull, but I haven't tried them yet.

I don't know how to use the Link Editor (LE). I don't even know how to get to it. Any help will be appriciated!:)

Thanks for the help, and I will try those posted tutorials I mentioned!

Hi TamTam,

To get the the link editor click and hold on one of the 1D/2D/3D/4D menus and select 2D.

The orange triangle next to the drop down menu that you just used is for going up through the hierarchy. The orange squares are for drilling down into the objects -- going down the hierarchy. "Space 3D" or the name of your scene if you've changed it, is the scene level level.

In case you get lost, starting from the top level, you can get back to Space 3D by clicking on the orange square for Project and then Space 3D.

Be careful about right clicking on things in the LE since that enter Panel Edit mode and allows you to edit the panels for the object. To get out of panel edit mode, right click on the titlebar and choose "Cancel".

Let me know if you need any help with it! The link editor is fairly intimidating at first.
