Ah yes. Interesting. Now let's try it. :p
We activate the shape skeleton button, activate the Move button, and try to move the knee to its position.

Nope. Skeleton acts as i would posing. The rest of the skeleton also moves than i would holding down CTRL as adviced (which does nothing by the way) And it blocks at this position. I cannot move it any further.
I have to DEACTIVATE the shape skeleton button that i can move my joint into its position.

Works fine on my machine. Maybe you need to get in touch with tech support. |

Hmm, seems that this has to do with my custom layout. Does indeed work as thought when i use the default layout. Darn. Took me a while to get this layout sorted ... |

Nope. Also my new layout has quit working before a few moments now. Same behaviour as described. No shape skeleton possible anymore. Acts again as i would posing. This time the layout is made in TS 7.51 though. So it cannot be an incompatibility between versions.
Must be something at my scene. I cannot go on with this scene. When i just save the skeleton and reload the scene it works. When i load the scene with the mesh it refuses to work. And once it acts this strange i cannot bring it to work until i quit with empty scene. Or load the scene with just the skeleton.
As for the scene, it is this one here, 1 MB: http://reinerstileset.4players.de/ext/rigscene6.zip
And my layoutfile: http://reinerstileset.4players.de/ext/ts7-51layout.zip
Layout is a special case though. I have heavily modified it. With the result that i need to reset to default context when i want to use other layouts. And to rearrange my 7.51 layout after this then by deleting all the double buttons that comes back by this ( for me another issue, this shouldn't be necessary). I have cut down the toolbar that comes up with every new window to just the arrow button ...

I am willing to bet this has something to do with deleting that extra bone and joint we have been discussing in the other thread... try it on a rig that you did not do the delete with. I can make all of the joints move other than the hip (which is your root joint).
I dl your scene file and tested it without using your custom layout.

Hehehe... I was getting nervous that you did not want to talk to me so I tested it myself.
I created a separate rig and tested that. For some reason I am having problems with the hip in the rig too. I never noticed this before. As far as the other joints, the only ones I ran into a problem with were ones that did not have the limits checked on yet.
So, whatever you did, it appears like you found a bug :) You should have bet me hehehe.

Many thanks for testing. Helps me downtracking the problem :)
I somehow doubt that it has to do with our bones problem in the first place. Because now the funny part: after rebooting everything is back working :D
Alright. Having this happen the second means it is repeatable. I just have to find a way. Hmm. Now i have to sort what i did last. And repeat it one by one. Maybe i stumble across the problem then. Was lots of stuff while battling with our special problem before. Will post when i find it :)
EDIT: ah, you are able to reproduce? Even better :D |

I reported this thread and the other one in the beta area. We'll see what the developer says... :)
