V-Ray render IK problem // Bugs

Sorry if there's another theme on this sibject, but I have no time to read all the bugs.
I have noticed that when I render IK animation with V-Ray, it produces small jumps of the skeleton that makes animation looks ridiculously jumping. When I render the same scene with Lightwave, everything looks fine.
This is not an IK or skeleton bug, it's a V-ray bug.
Any comments on this before in the forums? |

OK, I will attach simple scene with Crasy Bob IK figure.
The same scene rendered with V-ray, and then with Lightwave render engine.
Did anyone see the difference? |

Been here, done it.
Try using png or jpg and assemble it in another program, or try another one of the codecs... the default Cinpak was the one I was having my problems with. It is not a problem that everyone is experiencing, I have only seen 3 people post about this.

Unfortunately I've first noticed this bug when I was rendering an animation on tga sequence in order to collect them later. Same thing, no matter avi or picture files are used. |

Well, I have tried to isolate it the best I could...
I reported it in the beta forums a while ago, I showed videos and left scene files for others testers to try. I was the only one getting the error. I have tried to find common things that we all have that might be the cause of the problem but it does not appear to be video hardware. I do not get it when I render out individual picts, though I have only tested it a couple of times that way...
The developer for VRay on TS is not getting it at all, they seem to think it is a very isolated situation so unless we can narrow it down some they may not want to spend time trying to find something that only effects a small number of people.
If you have the scene file and do not mind loading here I can test it on my machine, if I get it maybe we can narrow it down some more. And maybe others users with VRay could test it also.
Sorry I am not much more help than that.

Sorry it took so long to get back on this, I've been trying to do a commercial project and it is taking up all of my time lately...
The file you loaded up is a TS scene file from the older format (scn), when you save it on the model side that is what you would get. If you save it in the newer TSScn format I can test it on the WorkSpace side... Or am I misreading the way you are doing this?
To save in TsScn you can either do it thru the library, select the icon for the scene file than right mouse click, than select export, the file format you want to save in RsScn.
You can in TS7.51 use the new File tab at the top right of the screen.

Yes, but how to save a scene in the newer format, when they are saved in the older one; and when you load the scene in ts7.51, the keyframes already are gone and the skeleton becomes calcified? |

Yea, that is the problem with Model and Workspace sharing the same program, with animation and rigging you really can not transfer between them. WS animations/scenes/modeling really needs to stay on that side, I use the Library for almost all of my work now, it might take a little getting used to but it is the best way to store and move things around that were created on the WS side.

Yep, I am already doing it that way, bit R.I.P. all my animations....
Thanks for the solution, Rich. IOU1 |
