I have tried again and again to paint weight onto my model and it results in a crash every time. I have allowed the crash report through to Microsoft as requested.

If you want my file just tell me where to send it. (Hopefully the banned ip sillyness is gone and I can actually send emails again to you.)

Cheers

when starting ts type MeshModifiers.EnableCrashReporting(); (edit: into console) [crash reporting will be integrated in 7.51 by default]. when crash occurs, it asks to save minidump. Please post it here.

Renamed it to .txt so I could upload it. Hopefully this worked.

I just had a thought as to what caused it and I was right I think.

I still had a layer of subdivision on which must have confused the system and caused it to crash. If I switch off the subd then it works ok. Perhaps a message could be called to warn user to turn off subd before using weight painting.

Thanks Tomas that's very interesting and encouraging to know that there is a TS dump: airbag motif

Sorry sir but (after searching) I don't know how to open the input console- can you tell us how to do that please?

Excellent thanks again!

(so many combinations of graphics cards, drivers, loaded applications running in the background it must be a nightmare for developers)

In Workspace on the bottom right of the default layout hold left mouse button on the fourth icon in from the right and look for the c:/ prompt. Then type in the above mentioned command and press enter.
