Sphere Three is selected and center of Widget (Yellow Dot) is clicked with both mouse buttons, Sphere Three's scale is changed. Good

Sphere One is selected and it's Widget is on top of Sphere Two. Select the center of Sphere One's Widget (Yellow Dot) and with both mouse buttons try to scale Sphere One. Sphere Two is scaled instead. Bad

I can't tell which one is selected...all your wireframes are the same color.
Played around with this and can't tell what the function of the center ball is.
Clicking both mouse buttons on the center widget ball seems to move, not scale, the sphere.
Right clicking the center ball makes the widget go away, which might please some people.
I'd like to Control-Click it and have it turn into the usual cage-style widget, but that's just me.
I think what's happening is that you might be inadvertently selecting the sphere behind the widget.

This is the Object Navigation Widget and the Yellow sphere in the middle closes the widget when you right click it. Scaling is performed with the Boxes. Left click + drag scales in it's axis. Right click + drag any of the Boxes scales all axis evenly.
Stienie: Have you been drinking Spheres again? ;)

OK I'm back from shock therapy:D I read both your responses and said no way so I tried the test again. Indeed I thought it was reacting to the yellow middle dot but as you guys stated it was just me clicking on the sphere behind the widget. I don't know why the selected sphere doesn't change colors. That is another question for you guys. I cannot tell which object I select in 7.5. In the screen capture I supplied I had selected Sphere One...can you tell?

It highlights for me when moused over. I sometimes have been tricked into thinking I was moving objects with yellow sphere but if you look closer it is one of the triangles. BTW clicking sphere does not move widget aside either. Most likely user is selecting other object and widget moves to that object.
Not sure what to say about visual clue of what is presently selected but there is Info panel with name of selected object.

TrueBlue are you saying the sphere in the center of the widget is highlighting or a primitive sphere when you mouse over? The primitive Spheres are DEAD until
I select one and enter point edit mode. No feedback at all until then. Is that just me?

I don't know why the selected sphere doesn't change colors

In the Settings panel in the Stack, under desktop is a setting at the bottom for Wire highlight, change that to Objects (rather than sub objects which is the default) and your moused over and selected meshes will change colour. Click and hold the Default button and change to Colors to, well, change the colours for your picking and selected.

Hope that helps.
