I have setup my workspace to have a grey background colour and to have a blue centerline. But when i open a new 3D window it opens with default settings and colours for background colour and the centerline:

hmm... not a bug really. Each new 3d window will have its own settings. This allows you full control over how it is displayed, from background to vertex size and color to grid colors and such.

But it bugs me that i need to reset it up everytime i open a new window :D

Alright, agreed. More a design issue than a real bug. Would be nevertheless neat to have a way that i don't need to change the settings for every new opened window :)

Bit puzzled here Tiles, it opens each window to a default setting which is the only way you could ever get back to the original settings if you wanted to . It is an easy job to change them and I think the 'default' bit is the real answer here. There simply has to be a 'default' starting point common to each user...a point to work from.

If you save the layout with the window set up as needed it reopens like that...:D

That default starting point is a point. But you can always reset to default context :)

I love to open and close new windows as i need them. So saving the layout doesn't really help me here.

For me it is simply a setup step where i feel that it shouldn't be needed to repeat it at every new opened window. I have no problem that a new windows opens in solid view by default. But i setup the workspace colours for good reason. I mean, it keeps the antialiasing as i set it up. And most other settings too. Why not the colours? ;)

But yeah, it is just my opinion. And not really a bug now that i look closer at it :)

Fair points Tiles, and I guess the only way to satisfy everbody would be to have a checkbox for the workspace side version of 'save state' from the model side that would remember the last setting for such things...:D

It is easier to do then to explain how to do it. Just do it! :p
I made as easy as I could. Here you can learn how to use the new Library system, navigate the Link Editor, and save a file.
