I have inserted an Ambient light into the workspace. While playing around i wanted to move it away. But couldn't select it. I closed TS, reopened TS, and could select and move it. Then i switched to modeler and back to workspace. And again i cannot select nor move the ambient light anymore.

Here's the scene:

The ambient light is the bigger sphere in the back.

Tiles,

Have you tried selecting it on the Model side with 'Scene Editor' ?

Nope. the ambient light doesn't even show up in modeler. Not in the modeler window nor in the SE or in the Object Info Panel Objects list. Seems that this one is not transferrable through the bridge. Is a 7.5 light. But still saves from modeler. It is back when switching to workspace ;)

The bug is that you have created it in workspace but cannot select it in workspace by mouseclick after switching between modeler and workspace. I can navigate to it with the arrow buttons though as i have found out at the moment. One more lovely workaround :)

The weird thing is that the Ambient light is physically modifiable - I just made it really big and displace-brushed it :)

I can physically modify the Omni Light in WS also, use Scale and it shows a huge globe in WS - and actually affects the fall-off cage in Model - strange, huh?

How do you manage to show the omni light in modeler? It doesn't appear here

If you use the '3D window' you can watch the Fall-off change (after Scaling the Omni in WS) when you click on something else in the scene - pretty cool (but probably some kind of bug)

Alright, then with screenshot :D

Omni Light? I am talking about the ambient light from Workspace. Here i have inserted three of them in an completely empty scene. One scaled bigger. Then opened a Modeler Window (Note, i wasn't able to switch to modeler in the small one first. Had to close TS and resetting the layout to get it to work. A possible next bug. Will have a look if i can reproduce it ... EDIT: no bug, i just cannot open modeler twice :) ) :

As you can see, the modeler doesn't show the ambient light. Not in modeler window, not in SE, not in Object Info Panel. But that's nothing i worry about. Ambient light is a TS 7.5 light. And simply doesn't appear in Modeler. And yes, the Bridge is on.

What i worry about: I am NOT able to select the ambient light with clicking at it in the workspace now. But that's the place where i have created it a few moments before. The smaller ambient light was selected with the arrow Buttons at the keyboard. And that's the only way here to select the ambient light in this shot.

It also doesn't highlight when over it with the mouse. When I am over the big ambient light in the small workspace window, and it has focus, the ambient light should turn yellow now. But it doesn't. It is not selectable with the mouse.

Quick fix:

In LE open /Preferences/Lights/Ambient and locate Transform node. Export it's OwnerMatrix.

Newly created ambient lights it should be selectable...

I will open another thread for this one so that this one doesn't get lost ...

Oookay. I can select, it turns to another colour now when mouseover. This means until i touch Zoom ... :D

Touching Zoom, clicking into Workspace to give it back focus, and then moving with the mouse over another ambient light, and again it doesn't change colour.

I can select it though by clicking at it. And once done the other ambient lights changes its colour again.

So the workaround is just partially working. There is this little last bit missing :)

Yes, for patch i have updated bridge too so you don't see ambient as a gray sphere in modeler; i've also updated picking code to support nodes without parent transform matrix...

I know this is older and being fixed, thanks Thomas...., but you can in the mean time select it in LE and them MMB in workspace to move it etc.
