May have a bug with 7.5 under Windows XP x64. New style buttons, although in 2D mode, are showing up as text, not the usual graphical icons. The buttons are the right size for the graphical view, and hence the text for each button is cut off. If I switch the relevant button bar to 1D mode, the buttons are resized and the proper text is shown, switching back to 2D reverts to the truncated text.
The old style buttons on the Model side are not affected - they show up as graphical icons as per normal.
Interestingly, there are four new style buttons that are working correctly ("Library Browser", "Command Prompt", "Record Toolbar" and "Manual"), but a fifth button on the same button bar ("Shared Space") that does still exhibit the problem. This button bar can be found in the bottom right of the following screen capture, whilst you can see the other button bars are exhibiting the problem on all of their buttons.
I'll be trying a few more things to see if I can resolve this, but if anyone has found a fix could they please post it.
(Sorry about the large size of the screenshot, but I wanted to show the default view as it is after an install without introducing any misplaced button bars, etc.).

Hmm.... this was fixed during the beta. Lemme reboot in Vista x64 mode and see if I have the same problem.

I am running XP 64 as well and I encountered this problem during beta testing. I found that I was using a Windows Style that makes a conflict with trueSpace icons display.
Try to turn off / uninstall the desktop style if you have one running : trueSpace should be fine. |

Hmmm....just using the default "Windows XP style". I dropped it back another notch to "Windows Classic style" but there was no change with that either. |

My system specs are as follows:
Gigabyte M59SLI-S5 motherboard (nVidia 590 SLI (AMD) chipset)
AMD Athlon 64 FX-62 CPU
4GB RAM
2 x nVidia 7950GX2 graphics cards (Quad SLI)
other things I've tried so far:
Installing 64bit versions of Microsoft's VC++ 2005 and 2005 SP1 runtimes
Uninstalling trueSpace and reinstalling under the "Programs Files (x86)" directory
Disabling SLI
Disabling extraneous startup programs
Disabling anti-virus software |

I think the best clue to what the problem may be will be the four buttons that are displayed correctly in the button bar in the bottom right corner.
What is it with these four buttons that is different to all the other buttons, including the one other button on the same button bar which doesn't work?
Only the Caligari team can answer this, so we may not hear until after the weekend.
I've included a link to the screenshot file here as the image size exceeds the forum limits:

This seems layout related as those icons that remain are system icons allowing you access to functions needed for both model and workspace. I am not sure of the answer but the fact that they are still there bodes well. |

One other thing you could try is to install TS by right clicking on the exe and choosing "Run as Administrator"...

Same problem here: XP x64.
I tried running it as unrestricted administrator. I also tried using "disable visual styles", and running in compatibility mode - still no go. |
