Hi... i foud a last moment bug over TS7.11 ;)

I dont know if that is solved on the beta or the next 7.5 and for that i post here..

On TS7.11 you can find this 2 equals Icons.. and they do practicly the same thing.. But one is from the Player side (Left image) and the other from the Model Side (Right Image)

4997

On the video you can see the new simulaiton doesnt save any keyframe to render... and the old one yes..

In other words.. the new player simulation only works to see not for render (an animation of course) ..

Plz confirm...

I downloaded video and it looks like a bug to me. It will be interesting to see the support 7.11 gets after 7.5 comes out. What is less than 1?
The other thought I had was you might not have vray in 7.5 for a little while if it doesn't support 1.0.

EDIT TO BELOW - It came back to me, you can record keyframes from the player side physics - check the Phys Engine node in the Link Editor, you will find it has the Save Anim checkbox for recording the animation, plus some attributes to control how that is handled. See manual for more information. END EDIT

Not really a bug if I understand what you are saying.

The two icons link to two completely different physical simulation systems. The old modeler icon runs the old tS6.6 physics system that can be recorded in modeler keyframes.

The other icon runs the player side (new tS7) physical simulation. This cannot be recorded direct to modeler side keyframes in the same way as the other physics system, as it is running in a different "space" if you like.

If I remember rightly, there is a way to capture tS7 side physics into keyframes over on the modeler side, but it isnt done using the modeler side process that you would be used to from tS6.6 for recording keyframes from a phys sim. I think there are steps in the manual that detail this (but I say think, not 100% sure).

HTH!

It works you have to enable two things.

1) The red button in the model view that auto keyframes whenever there is object movement.

2) The "Save Anim" in the "PhysEngine" node.

The differences in the two I think is the one on player side lets you move around the scene while physics is doing its thing and its also supposed to be faster.

The other (model side) you have to what for the physics calculations to finish.

The good thing is this should be simplified in ts7.5 since the Scene Editor got completely redone (hopefully). From what I remeber the KFE/Scene Editor wasn't tied into player very much.

As Tom and Asem have pointed out, there is no bug. tS7.x does have two different physical simulation engines, the historical one on Model side and the new one on Player side. Each has it's own icon to start/stop in the respective Model/Player view.

To record keyframes in the Model Scene Editor from the Player physics engine, you must enable the "Save Anim" checkbox in the PhysEngine node in the LE, you must start the simulation with the icon in the Player view and you must also have a Model view open on screen as well.

There's no mystery to the above, it is well documented on page 794 of the Artist's Guide, chapter 6.7.7 "Tutorial: Keyframes and Simulation".

Clear!! :D

But i think its a problem on The USER interface use the same icon

I know are diferents.. and if you see, sometimes the physics results diferent too.

I can get that setting because i allways delet the LE because are "for me" a bit confusing...

Im still prefering the icons than the arrows conections... But i feel this is the new way... A bit less intuitive..

Thanks for clear this thing...
