I remember a bug over "custom Shader" over color shaders on TS 6 and i still happening over 7.11..

Try this..

Go to color shader, select custom shader... now click over the the red top arrow to see the preferences, and now close or minimize...

Now try to reopen, or maximize the preferences..

The only way its Close TS..

This shader is very nice, plz.. if you can and its simple... Fix plz!!

If on the Modeler side don't hold your breath, NOTHING is being fixed. I wouldn't even waste my time reporting issues on TS 7 Modeler side or TS6. I would think even 7.11 is a legend now.

If that its true, i think its a bad marketing move..

First, because the people who buy or still use ts6x need some bugs be fixed to work better.. i dont say drastic changes.. only simple bugs.. Realy i dont like the idea to buy and buy upgrades and hope the bugs be fixed... i think the bugs must be fixed by free and it be a duty fix it.. Only the bugs.. new inprovements yes.. its ok pay extra money.. for extra tools.. but bug fix?? its like i sell you a v8 4x4 .. yes on the road work ok its preaty.. but when you put the 4wd doesnt work... its the same thing.. i cant tell you .. sorry dude.. now we have a brand new 4x4 with v12 engine !!! (but with the same pb over the 4wd)

I think 1 or 2 people, fixing bugs are ok.. i dont know how much time take to fixit, but some day be fixed!! that is a very important thing for a customer.. And better if you still sale TS6 or TS5 or TS4...

Remember, we still use TS6.6 on ts7.. and i belive that be for a long long time...

My opinion...

BTW.. i dont say fix bugs from TS4... but TS6.6 and 7 its totaly necesarely!!

Tom G in another post talking about fixes for TS 7.11

"There are no plans announced at present as to whether there will or won't be a tS7.11 bug fix. Due to the inter-related nature of things, it may not be possible. There always comes a break point where you start having too many versions to maintain - "bug fix tS7.11, and tS7.5, and tS7.6, and update to tS7.7" - so at some point in order to avoid going bankrupt in having developers in a very complex situation having to maintain two or three programs, there just has to be a move over to a new version. We've done our best to avoid that where possible, but every so often it happens."

In another message:

"All the comments above refer to tS7. If we are talking about tS6.6, then the reasoning behind the interface is the same, but there is no further advancement happening on streamlining it, and no customisability in the interface."

Well said. 6.6 [& hence the Modeler side of 7.x, as that is 6.6, being used as 1 big plugin] is not going to be fixed, quite simply because it can't be fixed.

As Caligari have already stated, they "painted themselves into a corner" with the old code. It got to the stage where it made much more sense to start from scratch [hence tS7 architecture] than to try and either fix or add-to the old code.

To those who keep requesting it, please just accept that upgrades/bug-fixes for 6.6/7.x Modeler are not going to happen.

Alien, do this...

Create a camera on model mode.. now resize the camera and try to rotate..

thats a new bug ONLY over the Ts7.. and you tellme i must acept that??

Whats happend if i dont have money to pay the next upgrade??..

I must accept to live with this bug???

I dont know why you accept all this thing, being you a pro team user.. Dont care what you pay???

And if the Ts7 have the TS6.6 inside, why the TS6.6 inside works worst than the real TS6.6??

Nobody on the planet can tellme i must accept dose bugs.. And i never seen any software company who doesnt make post suport of your softwares.

Even, the hardware companines make bios upgrades to fix bugs..

Caligari, i began to think caligari is the first software company without post soft support.. I only see a TS7.11 patch.. and this patch doesnt help anithing with the huge amount of bugs..

Microsoft 7 years make post support at the owners of Win98.. and you say to me i must admit nobody gonna fix nothing over ts6, a version included over the TS7 because the "TS7" its a INCOMPLETE VERSION!!!

When i ask " Plz a list of fixed bugs?".

No no.. we cant say nothing....

Can you confirm if this bug be fixed???

Nono we cant confirm nothing...

Can you say when whe get the Ts7 Player fulli compatible like the Model??

nono.. we dont know....

INCREDIBLE!!! realy INCREDIBLE...

and Alien, i realy apreciate all the caligari team.. are realy gentle.. a stupendous group with lot of talent.. but truespace at my opinion now its off the road....

When they finish what the TS7 must be... i dont know what 3d technologi must be avaiable and how many upgrade a customer must pay. and thats is what i dont admit now and never.. And thats why i post on the forum.. to say my opinion like a customer..

Best Regards, and nothing personal..

The trueSpace 4 - 6.6 line was and is just partially functionally. Rest is buggy up to useless. The workaround (if even possible) is for some tools longer than the chapter in the manual. Now explain a newbie how to work. First advice: workaround :D

That's good ol Caligari tradition. They never cared about rock solid tools. But prefered to throw in even more buggy tools instead. Looks good in the features list. Who cares about functionality? We as the user know that this is the wrong way. A tool that just works in the manual but not in the software is an useless tool. But that's the way it is.

Caligari never fixed anything behind a special point. No matter if the latest upgrade for a version is still buggy. And it always was and is. Even when users reported bugs that are tracked down to its cause. In that way we have TS 4 bugs that resides in TS 7 Modeler. In that way nearly every tool became more and more buggy with every higher version. Keeping old bugs and adding new bugs.

So no wonder that the TS 4 - 6.6 line is nearly unfixable. And TS 6.6 is also the Modeler in TS 7. There would be too much to do. Some bugs would need a totally rewrite of mayor parts of the code. Code that is simply outdated nowadays.

The rewrite from scratch was the wisest decision. Keeping the TS 6.6 core as the base part inside TS 7 was the worst though. Imagine what TS we could have now when Caligari wouldn't have spent a whole year to create the bridge. But that's just my personal opinion.

I really hope that Caligari breaks with this tradition once all functionality is moved to the Player and Modeler is removed. Even Microsoft has a monthly patchday nowadays. Still, I fear that Caligari repeats its old mistakes. Last big post around this problem let me fear the badest. The ts 7 future and some thoughts thread ...

Fact is: I am always in trouble to answer the "would you recommend trueSpace" question. Shall i tell the truth? Then the person who asks will not buy TS. Shall i lie? Then the person who asked would blame me to give such an advice once he stumbles over the bugs. I was more than once asked how i can work with such a buggy software. Even i am back to TS 6.6 for now. And even i am thinking of a move from time to time. And i really love TS.
