I first uninstalled the old trueplay. During install of new truePlay I got errors. Tried to install again with same results. Uninstalled new one and rebooted. Tried install and again same results. This error keeps popping up about 10 times during install.

Error message attached:

Any ideas?

I also just discovered TS7.11 no longer connects.

I got a similar error message during the install, though I only got it once and when I clicked OK, it carried on with the installation.

Regarding tS7.11 connecting - It is probably because the new truePlace server settings are different. I would wait for someone from Caligari to give you a definate answer though.

I am getting the same error too. I can not use truePlay1.2 more then a couple of times then I get another error. I have to reinstall to get it working again. I am the only user and have administrative rights.

I had the same or similar message. The install want's to check for and install DirectX updates and support DLLs and I allowed it to do so. I haven't noticed any problems with any DX programs yet but I'll definitely be miffed if my flight sim crashes as a result. As hemulin says, I clicked OK on the message and it continued with the install.

I loaded or connected several times last night with no apparent problems, except for one very unusual thing; and I'm not sure whether it's tP's fault or the wifi network I'm logged into to blame.

While chatting with Délé, all of a sudden EVERY application on my system tried to launch! I had no control until my system ran out of memory. Then I closed everything down, ran a virus check (there were none) and rebooted. Everything was fine.

I wouldn't want to be the one to chase THAT one down in the code!

I know that problems with DirectX can cause some strange errors with your system if your graphics board is slightly incompatible. (not able to handle all DX commands.) nVida is one of those boards, gForce 400 series in particular.

For me truePlay will not start now. Same error as I reported. My hunch is the dll files but I need Caligari to answer that one. My graphics card is the Radeon 9600 Pro. So far I turned off Nortons with no change, I've always had Admin rights.

I can't believe that this went through beta testing and no one had problems which prevented application to run. The old trueplay I could use with no problems but this one....

I didn't see any documentation mentioning minimum requirements or problems they encountered during QA.

I'm running out of things to look at or try. Caligari gives this to us on a Friday and now their off for the weekends so no support or help.

What will happen when some Companies Client has this problem? Who'll giving them support? Did you say call tech support?...no ones home!

I noticed in the logs that mscoree.dll was not found. Also I remember something about the .NET framework, which is a 20 meg download from Microsoft. Everyone that COULD connect, do you have the .NET framework? Does anyone know if this could possibly be it? Do you have mscoree.dll located in your windows/system directory?

I have no clue what the problem is. I'm trying to determine why most people do not have a problem.

Stan and Stoker, from the outside I hear those revelers partying away! Just wait till this is fixed, we'll show em.;)

I let Windows update keep the Net framework up to date, so yes to your questions.

Not being able to connect with tS is normal, if you have changed you tS to access the truePlay server rather than the trueSpace server (eg for coming in to Thursday chats using trueSpace rather than truePlay).

Please see here for more explanation, and solution to that (note you cannot make trueSpace connect to truePlace):

As for the installation errors, those did not emerge during testing at the end of last week, so we'll investigate now at the start of this week and let you know as soon as we know what is going on. Apologies to those suffering those errors for the inconvenience caused.

HTH!
