HI AGAIN!!! I FOUND!!! ANOTHER TEXTURE VRAY BUG!!!!! LERU LERU!!

Im very happy with that because i hope posting many bugs in future versions there are solved.... I HOPE...


Well i see this some times this bug but i dont found the way to replicate.. untill now..

First.. catch my texutre... FOR COMERCIAL USE ONLY :p

Now create a simple scene with a floor or a cube like my example..




Use the texture as color, no bumpmapping.. and in shader use any shader with reflectances in the screenshot i use mirror..


Now .. in reflection put 0.33... and see..

Its like the darkest collor of the texture afect the reflection.. I DONT KNOW!!!

and if you put a little up.. like 0.30 you see the non reflection area became more bigger..


In order i use the same texture in 3 cases, and in the first i make a uv to epand the texture and exagerate the effect...

One more thing.. Try to change or put a red color on the wall to see the effect.. i see the effect its not very notorious with black and wite collor..


But the problem its some part of the texture reflects and others not..

2 things.. First, the wall paint for another collor like yelow, or red, try and must use mirror shader maybe its that.. second i upload a zip with the same material. maybe you can useit...

Parva, it looks like you didn't apply the texture to the middle one for the test.

@Steinie - all 3 cubes have textures applied but the diffuse strenght at the 2 last isn't high enough (first just diffuse, second and third mirror mat)

Well i remeber the first time when i saw "Sorry my english" this bug.. its when i render a vRay scene from Ts7.1...

I start to play with vray at first time and i found this effect.. now moths later i try to recreate and thats what i saw in the past...


Its the same effect.. and its change the fressnell shader to mirror shader and the reflection set to 0.27..


Try this at home... :D

yep that's looks really weird.

Have you tried to reinstall Vray? Maybe something interfere but I must admit, I have no idea :o

Realy i have lot of work.. and im runing late :D but i try to send my little contribution any time i can... and as all in here.. whats the best for TS.. And if Caligari Runs GOOD WE RUN BETTER... :jumpy:

I remember my first step on 3d... about 92 with my old old old amiga500.. with a software called Real3d.. realy amazin for that time.. and now... 3ghz... GI.. its incredible what the tecnology do and whats gonna do in the future...

I go back further then you, Amiga 1000 I bought in 1985, Gold Disk MovieSetter (my favorite program of all time), Deluxe Paint and Imagine for 3D. Great days and great software!:)

LOL!!! Deluxe paint!!! Better than Adobe or Corel ever!! jejeje


Amiga 1000 in 85?? in 84 i bought my ZX spectrum + (Well my parets gives to me as a present when i have 5... you know) Cost 1200$ on Uruguay.. and the amiga 500 Cost 1000$ Here its very expensive.. My first PC cyrix 6x86 cost about 2200$


To say something, yesterday i see the new FlightSimulator X.. Preaty.. The price in USA its about 40$ here.. here its not in sale, only some people who download from internet.. and sell for 50$ Incredible na???


Here the tecnology its very very expensive, my Gforce6600 Vivo cost me 260$ about 6 moths... to take an idea we have the most expensive fuel all over the world!!!


Well Its good to share owr past... because its a part of owr present...

Maybe this is the problem.


Its like the Color shader are directly conected to the reflections..


Check this..

I think thats why i have thes problems with the textures..


Theres a problem with the vray.. you cannot make a black object with reflactance.. you must make white and pull down the Difusion if you need to get the black color..

And here is another example from this Vray bug..


The bad new is on the Image Gallery!! :(

Vray 1.0's reflections consider the surface to metallic, so tinting the reflections is correct behaviour. Of course, we want to render more than just metal properly, right? :)


Rest assured, Vray 1.5 does things a bit differently :D

It's good news! See the video on V-Ray 1.5 reflection settings, which Simon recorded as a demo of how it all works. Basically metallic surfaces tint reflection with the surface color - so black "tints" the reflections black, ie they disappear.


V-Ray 1.5 changes that as non-metallic shaders - Phong, Fresnel etc - no longer do that, solving this particular issue.

Prodigy,

I hate bugs, but this bug gives very useful and realistic thing. Remember stone floor in the old temple opened for public. Its not ideal flat. Lower areas are dark and coarse, higher areas are light and polished by feet to reflectance. Or parquet in museum. Some areas are reflective, some - not. We will lose if this bug be fixed. It just should be marked as a new MP shader - Museum Parquet. :)

No Mail here either...


There were some issue for one of the largest tele companies here and they didn't have mail for 2 days or something, have no clue why that was but would be in the same time frame I think, could be something like this...
