Hi all..

Other good point to fix.. its.. when you create a scene or an object and you save it into Object or Scene library.. and you are working with VRAY and only GI ... no lights.. the preview its completly BLACK.. I think its because use the Lightworks render engine to make this preview...

Every time i must put put a light to see what im saving... :D :D :D

I don't know how it's supposed to be with vray, but as far as I know the object preview for library objects is rendered with the actual light setup, which makes sense somehow. If you want to get rid of the light representations in modeler (I guess that's the reason why you delete the lights), you can turn them invisible in in the display options.

Prodigy, Vray depends on sync with player side so have you tried inserting your objects into the stack libraries (as a Rsobj) and see if they are lit properly?

I guess that soon we will all have to view the model side as one big plug in..

Prodigy: from the pic you posted, it looks like you might be using the old libraries instead of the new 1s, which might explain your problem.

When you right click on an object in the library, do any of the options have the word "export" in them? If not, then it's definitely the old library.

old object library :icon_OpenObjLib: new object library :icon_Player_Objects

old scene library :icon_OpenSceneLib: new scene library ???

Sorry, but I couldn't find the code for the new scene library icon. The organisation of the tS icons in this forum's extended icon listing thing is a bit of a mess; the entries in the dropdown list aren't in alphabetical order, & a number of them lead to pages without any icons or their codes.

Well yes.. its the "old Library" but examinating at first eye...can i tell bad points about this "NEW Object library" first its very confused..

because..its all grouped on the same Window.. object scenes lights shaders.. Bad point.. and if you have many librarys you have lot of scrolls...

Must have a button like minimized..

Second.. Its all gruped.. things like shaders that only works on player.. and things from the Model.. Other bad point.. when TS be a only one thing.. thats ok.. but now its very confused..

OTHER VERY VERY BAD POINT.. Its the old librarys and new librarys are not compatilbe .. One its RbObj. for example and the other its a folder and bla bla bla. and you can drop cobs or scenes to the folder and boila!. how can i see the old on the new?? who knows....

The old Objec library support Drag n drop to the scene.. AN EXCELENT TOOL..

on the new?? i dont know why but i cant drag any object to the model..

OTHER BAD BAD POINT.. about this new object library.. its the export.. for what?? export for cob'?? or 3ds?? na.. only for Rsobj..

GOOD POINT CHANGE THE IMAGE....

Other BAD POINT...

On old you can have many many scenes librarys.. and you can put a name.. on the new?? i don tknow if i can... or its all on the same scene library...

AND the last.. point.. BAD POINT.. its On TS6.6 are a plugin called scene icon or i dont remember.. A VERY VERY USEFULL TOOL. to show what is a scene.. or OBJECt on Windows.. For who do this plugin..ITS A MASTER...

And thats new librarys are not compatible...

Conclusion.. I dont use this new scene library before be more powerfull usessfull for my work and friendly..

Cheers!

Thanks for your post!

If you mean Caligari Thumbnails it is available in your repeat downloads and is compatible with tS7 but admittedly not the new Rs scenes/objects.

Nobody did touch what was ok :) The objects in tS7 format have new data structures, and are defined differently. That's why they have different file extensions. And also, the thumbnail program doesn't work with them since they have new data structures and file formats.

The thumbnail viewer still works with old format files (cob, scn), just as it did. Things are going to change as regards the libraries though, so I wouldn't worry too much about that at the moment!

For the preview, the new libraries may also solve that in the sense of making the old libraries much more redundant (if not entirely redundant), not sure at the moment.

Since we are not changing old code though (ie tS6.6 code), the old tS6.6 libraries won't be seeing changes to account for scenes with no lighting in them (since they use HDRI or GI), so unfortunately a workaround would be required - I would suggest a layer with lights on it that can be turned on for saving an object with a preview (and when modeling, since HDRI and GI don't illuminate while modeling anyway), and then turned off again for doing a render.

HTH!
