Sometimes I have problems with the unglue function.

I had a complex object with many glued subobjects.

Then moved this new object or whatever I done...

Then tried to unglue.

Then the unglue function was very slow.

I needed the task manager to stop TS7.

This happened sometimes but not always.

This answer I found. But my player window was not open. Is it the same problem?

CPU spike after unglue slected object

This is caused by bridge. Some topology changes are threated only on general way - a whole mesh is synchronized with Player. Turning birdge off or not opening player windows should speed things up rapidly.

Hmm, interesting, I find that quite often I cannot unglue any objects.

However not owning ts7 i cannot test the unglue feature, sorry.

Try the pi scene tool (primitive itch). You can unglue any sub object via drag and drop.

It will be the way that tS7 (new architecture) views old hierarchies. These are problematic, and result in a lot of data being sent across the Bridge, which slows performance.

Solution is to turn Bridge off, making tS7 Modeler effectively into tS6.6, and then work with the hierarchies there. This will leave the Player with no updates, so it will have the "old" version of the scene in there, the one from before you started ungluing.

Once done, re-enable the Bridge. At this point all the data needs to ship over to the Player side, so you may experience a one-time delay here - but far better than a delay at every hierarchy operation!

Disabling the Bridge can often be a good idea when doing "raw model work" (hence the name Modeler for that aspect to trueSpace7).

HTH!
