I do not know if this is a bug, quirk, or just plain weird! If I Left-click and drag a scene into player it works just as I had saved it, but if I just Left-click the same scene it loads different (not how I saved it). What is going on? |

The scene should load the same. However you should not get into habit of dragging scenes from the scene library to Player view as in shared spaces this would create a new 3D link and add the local scene to existing online linked spaces. |

Roman: According to the Artist's guide, you are suppose to Ctrl+Left+Drag a scene into a SharedSpace. I am not in SharedSpace and I am not using the Ctrl key. |

I will explain in detail what I have done so that you can try this on your machine. Please correct me if I am doing something that is wrong.
1.) I downloaded Johnny's awesome bit of scripting "3DTetris game".
2.) I noticed that his control did not open in truePlay so I edited his control to Show automatically. I then right-clicked and choose "Replace scene" in the Library.
3.) I was getting really dizzy looking down the Black & White checker board walls and the Blue & White checker board floor. So I imported the "Player - Scene Ground" object and changed the options: TileCount = 1, Zoom = 1000, and both squares to black. Then I recorded a Jscript command to select Camera1 to Run automatically. I then right-clicked and choose "Replace scene" in the Library for the second and last time.
4.) I Generate a new scene then Left-click + drag my one and only saved scene from the library. Everything is fine, my "Player - Scene Ground" object and Jscript command are imported and it works like I had hoped.
5.) I Generate a new scene and then this time, I just Left-click my one and only saved scene from the Library. Only this time, my "Player - Scene Ground" object and Jscript command are missing.
After further discovery I have noticed that I now have 3 - 3DTetris scenes in the RS Scene folder. Again I have one and only one 3DTetris scene in my Library.
P.S. I would like to thank Johnny again for his great contribution to this community. My Grandchildren are having a blast playing this game. |

UPDATE: I deleated all duplicated scenes from the RS Scenes folder except my last saved scene. Also noticed several other duplicated scenes that were saved the same way as previous mentioned. I Left-click & drag my scene into player and it works as expected. Then I Generate a new scene and Left-click same scene, the scene does not load and all lights and camera are removed.
I try other scenes that came with trueSpace7.1 and they all work as expected. |

I cannot repeat this scenario, by replacing the scene, I can only get a duplicate scene in rsscenes if I save another version of the scene to my library as I would expect, and I cannot replicate any of the other anomolies with the lights not loading etc if I use the player create new scene.
Scenes inserted to a library but later removed from the library by deleting is also removing the RS Scenes stored scene as well so I only end up with the one file that remains in my library and not the duplicates i do not want.
If I export the library and re-import it then I do get a duplicate item with the name followed by a number in brackets.
Can anybody else replicate trueBlue' s findings ? I would appreciate it if some one else could give this a try and report here the results.
Thanks

TrueBlue, thanks for making some improve to 3DTetris games :)
I just make an update by add some code for program D3DGrid color instead of insert a D3DGrid object on the scene. You can download it at this link. (http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?t=689)
Cayenne, TrueBlue bug issue is happened here to0 if I work on large JScript code (more than 1000 lines) and save same scene file on same library. |

Cant duplicate the click and drag, with a simple test scene, I am finding click and drag gives same result as just click. Some questions though.
1. what state is the bridge set to - on, auto or off?
2. there isn't a possibility that click + drag is doing an "add to scene" rather than "replace scene" ? Just wondering if this is why different objects appear with the different mechanisms.
HTH!

try this:
open 3dtetris scene file. go into script editor. make same change. then still in script editor, replace the current scene (use right on current 3dtetris scene icon, then select replace scene). then generate new space. now click on that 3dtetris scene file to load it. then go into script editor and check if your change is save or not. |
