go to player open edit mode, {select a face on a cube or not}..now go to model, open edit mode, select a face and try to sweep, tip, or bevel..this is the error message  ..

this seems to be due to the supposed feature of leaving edit in player open :(

I think someone at Caligari already explained this. The PE is left open from player in case you wish to return to editing in player after going to model view. BUT choosing a PE function in model view cancels it out.

This is a good idea as the player is the new (and future) side of TS. However, you may need to go into model view to load a primitive or edit material etc. This way Player PE gets the priority and waits for your return without ending your edit.

Sort of like putting a call on hold while you go and get a pen to write a message down.

Simply choosing a model point edit tool doesn't allow a face to be selected though. I find that I have to deselect the object and right click it to get model tools/selections. It's not a real big deal unless it's part of your workflow, but maybe it's a simple fix.

I've never switched between player and model tools in this manner though, and I really like the uninterupted player editing the way it is currently configured.
