in TS7.1 with player edit mode active, you switch to model, the player edit toolbar stays open..also if you had a face selected the player sweep or tip tools will sweep or tip..[didn't happen in TS7] |

Confirmed about the toolbar not dissappearing.
However, the face did not sweep on my primitive - went back to select a triangular face to make sure, it did not sweep. Different circumstance of some sort. |

strange..I create a cube in model, switch to player, select a face, then back to model ..{in a new scene ..}
I can even select two vertices go back to model then weld them with the player's weld tool. or many of the things I could do in player if there was something selected when I went back to model.. |

Sorry, misunderstood to think that sweep or tip happened upon switching.
Yes, I am able to use the persisting toolbar just as you stated. |

toolbar stays after switch to modeler - this is intentional. Also point edit mode stays on - It deactivates only after you start editing in Modeler. The idea is that you can switch between modeler/player without altering player state if you cannot have 2 windows side by side. If it is too confusing, we can add checkbox in some settings panel to disable this feature. |

it makes no sense Tomasb..if you do anything in model, edit in player shuts down..dual view or not..this is not a feature, but a bad idea and it created more bugs..this supposed feature couldn't have been tested very much, if at all..see bug here -> http://forums1.caligari.com/truespace/showthread.php?p=7128#post7128 |

I was not refering to terminating PE on player side but to toolbar... this is of corse not a good idea - but it was the only possibility as there is not possible to synchronize selections between player and modeler when you enter point edit on both sides. (well it was possible to approximate this but speed & memory were the issue here). It is for example not possible to select triangle in Modeler...
I'll check that no faces selected error. |
