I leave a TS running with a saved scene opened with a perspective view setup,

Someone else will then log on to my pc by using fast user switching so it leaves me logged on. Once they log off and I go back to mine TS works fine apart from the fact that the perspective view just freezes you cant move it or anything. This is really quite annoying especially as this happens alot and you then have to go back and redo the view that you previously had.

Anybody else have this problem...

or can anyone else try this to see if similar happens...??

ya that's sounds like it can be annoying, can't say I have ever experienced a window freezing on me though, why don't you use a camera, and use that as your view window that should elimate the need to reset your view all the time.

I agree...

There are two other options:

1. Stop using fast-user-switching (however you probably don't want to do

this)

2. Save your scene and then close tS, i'm pretty sure the next time you open

tS it will still have the same perspective view open (correct me if i'm wrong)

No this is not an option, sister is banned from my account...........

Yes I think the perspective stays as you left it but the option of using a camera seems better for me ;)

If you are using fast-user-switching that must mean that your sister already has an account, therefore whenever she wants to use the computer, just log-off.

I cant log off this pc is running 24/7 and has the cctv serveilance on it which requires a program to be running all the time so logging off is not an option

Erm, generally that is a bad idea, for example, what if your computer crashed, if tS7 crashed it (it is quite possible) then that will mess up your cctv logging. Normally you would have a dedicated machine doing that sort of stuff.

I dont no about you hemulin but TS has never crashed whilst I have left it and has never crashed to the extent where i have to reboot my machine.

+ apart from restarting, my machine has run since the beggining of january this year no problem. ;)

I'm surprised your machine is that stable...you must not do as much on it as I do on mine...After all, I presume you have multiple 'decent' machines that are operational.

Stoker, in my experience running a machine 24/7 is not a great idea. Add to this the fact that you expect TS7 to run stable and with user switching.

If I wanted to do serious 3D/2D stuff, I would have a machine dedicated to that with the best GPU, latest drivers etc.

Running other programs intensively will cause some sort of problems eventually.

Can't you knock up a cheap and cheerful machine for the CCTV from all the spares you have?

I could but I need a hard drive and some form of cdrom and a case.

That could be worth considering though;)

Case = £10

20GB HDD = £20

CD-ROM - Peanuts = <£10

By the sound of it you don't need a mobo so you don't need to blow another £20 on that, if you're lucky you could go down to your local computer store and get some second hand stuff, it doesn't have to be good to act as a cctv server.
