in truespace66 you could right click a toolbar and the hidden icons would pop up .you could get to the icon you wanted, then open it's option panel easily..;) .
getting to options panels is now a pain

I agree.

This is my main complaint against tS7 too.

In second comes the new file menu.

They are both a huge step backward in terms of efficiency at work.

There have been a lot of complaints about this new "feature" during beta testing, and I don't know why it hasn't been changed. Firstly I don't understand why developers don't listen to the majority of users, secondly I don't understand why it's necessary to change something that always worked so well and everybody got used to.

The workaround is to left click and then right click while still holding LMB. Though the icon still will be hidden inside the popup.

Not sure what you want guys-you still get the 'hidden icons' but they are function specific rather than just plain visible. Problem may be sorted if and when expanded toolbars (shown below) come back to UI, and remember that soon the modeller will be integrated into the player so the code is most likely not being re-written for model side...

Thanks for the tip GraySho!

It is okay for me now :)

Only the Recent Files missing in the menu are still annonying now ; and aside from that, I really like tS7!

ok Splinters..think like this..forget all about left clicking..period..

try and right click the view icons. in your custom toolbar...they don't pop up like they do if you go to model's edit tools..you can get to any icon with the right click to expose the options panel..

didn't you use ts66 much?

I think you'll find splinters moved away from tS6.6 as soon as tS7 was out - and probably a bit before (he is a beta-tester) things are so different in tS7 that you tend to forget obselete things from the previous version. :jumpy:

Now, now Stan-no need for that tone is there....;)

As a fellow Loyal User winner, you know I did....been using TS7 for so long now I cannot remember many quirks of TS6.6...but then again, unlike you it seems, I am in no rush to go back either....

I really think that this version is best considered a taster for future TS with regards to tools in player. If I understand you guys right-are you talking about the tools in player? R-Click on model side icons brings up 'hidden' toolbars for me. As for Player side, it is not complete yet so all functionality is not there at the moment.

Either that or I am missing something here....

Splinters ..my guess is it wasn't part of your workflow that's why you don't get what we mean...you said you didn't even use layers..they are great..and something thats needed in player view

Stan, though you probably don't mean it, sometimes your comments sound quite condescending. As a tester I try to test all areas, as Icon designer I had to L-click and R-click on each and every icon in the UI and see what popped up-that is why there are very few 'old' icons. I changed all those I found or was allowed to. With over 700 icons to get through I could not get each and every function into my everyday workflow. Same applies now I am strictly testing.

Please don't use lines like 'you said you didnt' even use layers' in repsect of not understanding your concerns. I do understand your concerns-hell, I made a custom toolbar because of your concerns and I proposed expanded toolbars to Roman because they were asked for.

Sometimes the attitude towards TS7 is very negative here. Everyone seems excited about the fact that TS7 is this new platform trying to break the mould yet so many ask 'why can't it be more like TS6.6?'

Model side is a 'bridge' between old and new. It will not be there for long and to expend energy on tweaking it when it will soon be updated completely is frankly a bit of a waste of time.

All those things needed in player will gradually migrate over from model....it should not be long....

Clearly, yes...;) Can you think of any negative comments I have made about your requests for icons or UI improvements?? and you have made quite a few...

The negative tone might be a result of the current version which was sold to us as you said incomplete. I wouldn't call it negative attitued, as text doesn't express the attitude of the writer (to a certain level). Critiques and complaints of course always sound negative to those who are defending a point of view.

The new platform is great and my guess is it allows new and stable tools which we always dreamed about. But as long as playerside is not complete, we have to deal with modeler. And this might be for longer than you think.

And new doesn't always mean better, and the icon behavior on model side is new (why was time wasted to changed that?). It's sad that instead of picking up ideas it is always talked to death, like, yeah, there will be no need for this in the future....you'll get used to it....wait a little....

Well, it seems there will be no change on that matter and we have to live with it.

Well, let's hope that, I somehow got used to wait
