As Sometimes i cannot be on my office computer I use my laptop downstairs whilst doing other chores. It is very helpful to have remote desktop connection. (works with every other program I have installed on the PC I am remote Desktoping apart from True Space:mad: )

If the program is running as soon as you start to use it all the icons diseappear or if you try and run it from scratch it will not run at all:mad:

I would appreciate it if someone could try this as it is a real pain and I do not want to have to carry on using 6.6 just because a newer piece of software cant do what the last version did:(

Not working here either. If I do a remote desktop into a machine and check the display settings, it is always "medium (16 bit)" on every machine I can remote into and I cannot set it higher. tS7 has a requirement for 32 bit display modes so this will be the main reason preventing it from running. If anybody can find a remote desktop connection that allows 32 bit display settings then it will be interesting to see if it does run.

I have a few other programs that won't run over remote desktop either - video editing software and some programs with Flash enabled GUIs, probably for the same reason along with the problem of refresh rates over a remote connection.

32 bit only? Bummer, here I run TS 6.6 on 16 bit. I don't have any remote desktops though...

Windows Terminal Services appear to limit the maximum display depth for a Remote Desktop connection to 24 bits. The connection is noticeably slower running at 24 bits but tS7 still won't run due to the requirement for a 32 bit display depth.

Try to use VNC.... this works with tS7 correctly.

Quite right Tomas. VNC is slower than Remote Desktop connections though and it downsamples the display depth on the fly so even though tS works the remote desktop can look posterised.

Stoker - if you plan to use VNC, use Real VNC, not Tight VNC, even though tight VNC is faster than Real VNC, apparentley Tight VNC only supports upto 24bit colour.

However you will struggle to run TS7 properly when using Real VNC, it is quite slow compared to RDP and in my opinion it will be quite difficult to do some decent modelling over Real VNC, however, if you just want to set something rendering, you're fine.
